This is a common issue with these. The door for some reason goes out of alignment and you will have to either adjust the striker or the door track or take it somewhere and have them do it.Its better to have someone else do it so they have to fix it right if they want paid..

It's likely one of the door switches is damaged causing the door open signal. It can also be caused by the key in the ignition, so don't rule out a faulty key insertion switch.

Have your husband or a mechanic test these parts for accurate functionality.

The dash light indicates I have a door opened and a chime dings when I hit a bump. All the doors are closed.

Check the 2 contacts on the passenger sliding door. If the door is out of adjustment they will have poor contact and a bump will jar it and turn on the light and chime. Make sure the side door closes securely.

One of your door (or trunk) switches may have failed that controls the warning 'chime.' Another possibility; if you have anything weighing a couple of pounds on an unoccupied seat, it may think there is an 'unbelted' passenger in that position.
You can try to locate a defective door switch by opening one door at a time, locating the switch button (look for it on the door frame) and depress it, letting it snap back out. Sometimes the switch contacts geet contaminated or corroded and letting the button 'snap' out can shake the contacts enough to restore electrical contact.

The power sliding passenger door will not open even manually. At first it didn't want to close, but after I slammed it shut it didn't want to open. A few days later I was trying to get the door panel off...

I think you have a latch issue or a latch release issue, pull the door panel and try and release the door latch, pull the latch and try to see what if anything is wrong with it, also make sure the linkage going to the latch from the release handle is hooked up or not otherwise damaged.
