SOURCE: 2005 Caddy V8 sts no longer remote cranks. lights

I had the same problem with my STS. Go back through your programing menu and "check" remote start again. Somehow, mine defaulted to not allowing remote start feature. It was good to go as soon as I re-programmed it.

SOURCE: what would cause the engine light to come on in my

bad oil pressure or oxygen sensor or bad fuel mixture sensor or even a failing fuel injector. I sure wish they wouldnt put dummy lights in vehicles but instead there should be gauges because if it is oil pressure theres probably damage to motor because those dummy lights come on when its pretty much to late to stop damage..

SOURCE: OBD2 "check engine lite" shows

Both codes are system too lean bank 1 & bank 2. First place to start is any obvious vacuum leaks. Look for broken, collapsed or missing vacuum lines. Check egr valve & intake manifold also.

Ford explorer check engine light

Unless a code has been set the light usually comes on with the key set to run with the engine off. Suggest going to your friendly auto parts dealer and have them connect a OBDII scanner and check for codes. This service is usually complementary!

Some codes (Catalytic converter) can represent a significant expense but not interfere with the driving performance.

Is this a V8 or V8 If it is a V6 it has one, if it is V8 it has 2, the other sensors are for the monitoring of the catalytic converter efficiency. If I had the code and exact engine I could be of more help.

2006 sts engine codes p0174 and p1101

try taking some throttle plate cleaner and while the car is cold spray it around behind the throttle body. on a lot of Cadillac's their is a rubber boot between the throttle body and the upper intake and it splits and can give you a lean condition. it is air unacounted by the mass air flow sensor. or if you have a fuel filter. may be clogged.

2006 Ford Five-Hundred. ODBII: P0171, P0174, P061B, P2106

I suggest check the easy things first. Vacuum lines, could cause a lean condition, fuel filter restricting the fuel flow lean condition. Carefully clean throttle body with proper cleaner. I'm a shade tree mechanic but these simple things work sometimes. You didn't mention if you have the cvt trans. If you do and you are going 75 80 on the highway coming to a hill will cause it to race that high. Then when the hill is crested it will slow down, I don't like it either but it is the nature of the beast. I often cancel the cruise on big hills on the highway so it doesn't do that.

P0171 & p1101 codes

p0171 is a lean condition on the oxygen sensor from the side of the engine that is the same side as cylinder 1. The other p1101 is an air flow issue that is most likely a vacuum leak that is causing the 171 error. Check all the vacuum lines on the engine and see if any are loose and also see if there is any damage to the PCV valve from the battery leaking.

Found oil in my coolent expansion tank

Generally speaking, if you have engine oil in the cooling system, you have a leak somewhere in the engine, which could be a head gasket.
Is there any sign of coolant in the engine oil ?

How to reset the check engine light on a 2005 Cadillac STS V8?

If the check engine light is on, there is a problem that the computer has detected and it needs to be fixed first. Once the proper repair(s) have been made you can use a code reader that has the ability to "reset" the light. You could also just disconnect the battery for 15 minutes. If the problem hasen't been fixed the light will come back on.

I have a 2006 F-150 v-6 2wd with a check engine light that just came on. Found out that the code is P0174. Can you help me figure out how to diagnose a sytem too lean issue?

P0174 is a dirty air-flow (MAR) sensor. It is located in the inlet air tube near the throttle body. Just clean or replace the sensor. If you want to clean it first, use only electronic cleaner as any other cleaner may damage the sensor. Disconnect the air inlet tube in front of sensor and spray the sensor with electronic cleaner through the screen at the wire element in the center of the sensor. Let it sit a while and spray again. Re-connect the air inlet tube and start engine. If P0174 appears again, you need to replace the sensor.
