First thing I would do before trying to fix this yourself is contact a Chevy dealer and find out if there is a recall on this problem. I would also advise that you take this one to a mechanic.

How to fix my traveling accelerator pedal is stuck on high - how do I fix it

If it is physically OK and not stuck but the negine is running fast replace the TPS (throttle position sensor) sensor. It's usually right on top of the engine and easy to find. If not, tow it and have a mechanic fix it. It is too dangerous to drive like that.

How do I adjust the Idle setting on my 1996 Dodge Caravan 3.0L?

No field adjustment is necessary. ECM controls is. IAC could be stuck, throttle valve could be dirty, bell also rings if any gauge is reading too low for normal operation, esp. oil pressure & temp ga.

Hello, Twice in the past few weeks, the gas pedal has become stuck after pushing it in all the way to accelerate. Not sure what it might be. Will I need to see a mechanic?

FIrst you need to find out why your throttle is binding at WOT before you pay for a mechanic $85.00 an hour that you can do you self. If you have floor mats, make sure that it's not bunched up by the accelerator peddle causing the it to bind to the floor. If you do not have floor mats, work your way from the peddle to the cable and see if there are any worn parts from the peddle to the firewall. Also inspect the cable and the bushing at the firewall where the cable goes through the firewall, once out to the engine bay, follow the cable to the throttle body and look for any binding to the cable. Move the throttle to the WOT position and see if the cable is binding or the throttle body it self is binding. If the cable is worn or binding, replace the cable assembly from the accelerator peddle to the throttle body. If it's the throttle body, your going to have to replace that since it's cheaper then repairing and you have new parts. Good luck and keep me posted be glad to help you save some money.

Stuck accelerator

This problem needs a trained eye to check it out. There are shops other than the dealers, but please do take it in to a reputable shop. This is one you want to make sure is fixed right and someone needs to look at what's going on with your car... Highly recommend it soon.

Take off the throttle body (very easy to do) and use carb cleaner to clean off the gunk. You have to clean both sides of the butterfly.
