Question about 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Right side headlights not working

I have 2000 s10 blazer Ls and both the high beams and low beams arent working. whoever had the vehicle before me had some crappy HIDs for the low beams that stopped working about a month after driving it. so I just drove with my high beams for a while until my driver side high beams also went out. at that time, I figured that it was time to change all of the bulbs out. all I did was disconnect the ballast and connected it back to my normal bulbs that I bought. the passenger side works fine but my on my driver side, neither the low or high beams are working now. I need help!

You need to first establish that you have current to the headlight in question. With it being so flaky in how it is working I would bet that your connector is bad at the light. Grab a meter and see if you are getting your 12 volts to the connection. Cleaning it out may help you for a while.

SOURCE: 2000 Chevrolet Blazer Changing Low Beam Headlight

the metal ring is the retainer for the bulb. you should be able to get at it from the front area without taking the grill loose. most of those only have 2 little phillips head screws. remove the screws and the bulb will come out. unplug it and the new one goes right back in. installation is the reverse of removal.

Hello! Dttech is correct...I would only add that if you DO NOT have daytime running lights... Pull the headlight switch and check for the presence of +12 volts on the Red lead (other end of "Z")...At least we can eliminate the fusible link without the knowledge of what option is in the vehicle and perhaps save an unnecessary step...

One low beam head lights will not work, high beam works though

check for a damaged wire for the low beam. Also wouldn't hurt to check the ground wire as the high beam will try and ground through the low beam but not visa verse

I have a 2000 blazer and the high beam light and low beam work on one side and the other side both beams are on and not very bright at all

It sounds like a bad ground wire on that side. Get a test light and turn on the headlights, and high beams. test the wires to see which two are "hot" with the light. Take the one that's not hot and run a ground wire between it and the body.

My 87 k5 blazer headlights don't turn on when the car is started and running any more... all 4 headlights turn on fine when I pull the lever all the way out for high beams

The vehicle should not have to be running for head lights to burn.If high beams work, then the low beam head lights could be burned out, even though they light up with high beams. The dimmer switch, can be the problem if the head lights only work on high beam.

How to adjust headlights on 1995 chevy blazer

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.
