This is going to be a way way out answer---my car has an issue with traction control---when engaged---it limits the motor rpm so it won't go---I have to disengage it--shut it off in order to go otherwise it will almost come to a stop---it's dangerous in traffic cause sometimes I need to come almost to a complete stop to have it disengage after I switchc it off--- you go to your local advance auto to have them check it with an analyzer to see if any codes come up

Whens the last time you change your fuel filter. The other problem could be the fuel pump. Our you using Bio Diesel or regular Diesel ?
Some Bio Diesel will not burn hot enough to give you the power.

Hello, you can try resetting the ECU. Disconnect the battery, or remove fuse #6 from the fuse box under the hood. Wait a minute before you re-install (or reconnect) it.

Engine revs but no acceleration

Clutch plate and pressure plate seem to be too weak to pull the car. Or one of the CV joints is detached from the gear box. To test the clutch plate, park the car on flat surface. Pull the hand brake up, start the car, depress the foot brake pedal, depress the clutch pedal, put the car in 1st gear, press the gas pedal and leave the clutch pedal at once, while keeping the brake pedal depressed.
Follow one of the two following statements:
1. Engine does not shut down and remain start. (Clutch plate, pressure plate and clutch bearing defective - Replace all as a set)
2. Engine shuts down. (Clutch system is OK and does not require any repair).

Honda Civic 1.5 Vtec Randomly Accelerates When Cruising

Try contacting the Dealer. There was a big investigation about some Hondas suddenly accelerating. Here in the U.S., there were Lawsuits and deaths from sudden acceleration.

Check out the site, I believe, Allaboutautomobiles.com, which has the National Hoghway Traffic Administration info about each car and defects. This site has Recall #s and Consumer complaints listeded.

I hope my solution is useful.

2001 civic with 50, miles will not stay in fith gear. All other gears hold well.

Honda did have a problem with some of their 5 speed manuals. 5th gear bounces out after you have shifted or when you accelerate ?
Either the snchros are bad and are not allowing the gears to seat, or a gear is bad.
You will have to find a qualified reliable auto center to do the repairs.
Please let me know what you find.

Car will not accelerate as you shift through the gears (delayed a

i had that problem on a 93 escort and it was because the woodruff key that holds the harmonic balancer in place was broken, the poopy acceleration was because the crank sensor gets its "signal" from cogs on the harmonic balancer, which did not turn at the same speed as the crank shaft because of the drag on the crank pully (crank pully and harmonic balancer are same part)
