Where is the clutch located/

THe clutch is located in the flywheel housing directly behind the engine. Put you foot on the brake while having you foot on the accelerator and at about 1500rpm let out the clutch pedal. If the engine dies immediately the clutch will be good . If the engine continues to rev with the pedal full out you have a clutch problem This test should last maybe 5 seconds.

Need to know how to replaces clutch my 2001 5 speed manual pontiac sunfire car

Unhook positive battery cable, the clutch cable or hydraulic slave cylinder to get the transaxle ready for removal. Secure your car in a safe position. Jack up the front. Stabilize engine with a jack below the oil pan. Remove the transaxle. Separate engine from the transaxle. Push transaxle away from the engine. Disengage the bolts around the pressure plate. Take it and the clutch disc out. Follow instructions for replacing the clutch. Take flywheel and old seal out. Install a new seal. Done! Know how to repair cars by http;//www.obd2express.co.uk

Can the ac compressor clutch on a 2006 dodge stratus be replaced without replacing the entire ac compressor?

i dont know of any domestic cars that dont have rebuildable/replaceable clutches on the compressor. best way to find out is to call a parts store and see if you can get the part.

Chevy l989 4X4 5 speed manual clutch not working

Almost every time a clutch is replaced in a GM with hydraulic release system that system is replaced as well. You can try, and try, and try again to bleed it, but you will eventually replace the clutch slave and master cylinders. Once the slave is allowed to fully extend, it is then virtually impossible to make it function correctly again.

Clutch problem - battel to get gear lever in to gear

Well cindy for what i read from your question it just sounds to me to be the slave cyl. or master cyl. i got to admit i don't know exzactly what your set up is, but most have a resavor under hood with a line running down to a slave cyl. witch in turn pushes clutch to disengage clutch, now that slave cyl. can bleed off with very little sign of leakage, and from my experance from other cars and trucks thats where the problem lies is in the slave cyl. or what you understand is master cyl.

Clutch

buy the book and read it, replacing a clutch on a front wheel drive car is a lot of work.. if you do it put the front of the car on jack stands.. remove both front tires and wheels..make sure you support the engine enough for your own safety. replace all the clutch parts while you are there, disk, cover, throwout bearing.. .. buy quality parts preferably made in Japan or the USA.. good luck
