Leaking oil from tappet packing and engine missing

When "dragging" while starting the problem is often a bad starter or a weak battery or battery cable connections. If the engine also runs rough, this may also be caused by low battery voltage or battery cable connections (depending on which make of car). The oil leak can be fixed by tightening the bolts on the valve cover. Do NOT over tighten as they are small bolts and then can be broken. Engine missing can be caused by the lifters being somewhat stuck. There is a product named Engine Restorer and Lubricant. It is added to the engine oil and it will free up lifters. I have used this product several times and it is very effective. It costs about $10.00 at Walmart.

Engine leaking oil

The tappet cover of Mitsubishi Lancer is made of a sheet metal. Most often when the cover bolts are torqued forcibly, the bolts make their cup shaped depression in the tappet cover and the leakage starts. The long term solution is as under:
- Remove the tappet cover, and remove the seal.
- Arrange a round cylindrical 4 inches long rod with a diameter of about 19 mm (3/4 inches) having flat surfaces at both the ends.
- Hold the tappet cover strongly with the top surface down, and put the area of the hole where the bolt fits, on the 19 mm flat head of the rod.
- You will find the mounts made by the bolts facing upward.
- Hit these mounts one by one with the peening hammer to make them as flat as possible.
- When finish up with all the mounts, clean the surface with a clean piece of cloth, fit seal, and place the tappet cover back on its place.
- Arrange flat thick steel washers as large in outer diameter as the contouring surface of the tappet cover allow them to mate, and place each washer under each bolt.
- You can re use the old tappet cover seal as long as it is not teethed. If so replace it with a new one.
- This tip is guaranteed to work, because I have been applying the same technique since so many years with no complaint at all.
Hope that works.

1998 dodge dakota 1998 bad oil leak losing 5 quarts in a month . the oil is on alternator and all over cant find leak any suggestions where to look

Try cleaning the engine with degreaser and hose off the oil and muck. Let the engine dry out and then start the engine and look where the oil is leaking from.
From your description, the oil could be leaking from the tappet cover. May need a new gasket or the tappet cover bolts needs tightening.

When I removed #4 sparkplug there is oil on sparkplug hole on a 2000 Kia sportage

If oil is on the spark plug tip then it could be from worn valve stems or from worn piston rings. When you accelerate away from the traffic lights and the engine blows a lot of greyish smoke then this is a sign of worn parts.
If the oil is leaking into the spark plug hole, then it could be leaking from the tappet cover, either the tappet cover bolts are loose or the tappet cover gasket is faulty.

How do you replace spark plug seals on 1995 Isuzu 3.2?

the metal seal under the spark plug should never be replaced, just replace plugs if leaking (rare) , but if oil is leaking into the 'plug tube' then tappet cover gaskets will need replacment.
