Why have my coolient fan stopped?

If it is front wheel drive with an electric fan motor check the relay and fuse first. you can run a jump wire from hot wire to fan straight to battery if fan still does nothing then motor is bad.

Radiator fan not working

temperature sensor bad, replace that doesn't work, fan motor may be bad, if you disconnect the electrical connector of the fan, and jump wires from the positive and negative of the plug to the batterys +/_ to see if the motor runs, or not. then you'll know which is bad, motor or sensor.

Collingfans won't come on after resistor was replaced, also ac pump won't come on, have power to the relays under the hood and when they are jumped can get power to ac unit but still no fans

on the cooling fan part, disconnect the wire harness and run 2 wires from the connector to the battery, ( 1 wire to the pos 1 to the neg) if that dont work, switch the wires at the battery (take the wire on the pos and switch with the neg) if the fan still dont come on , you have a bad motor on the fan. if it does work and your relays are good, i would say you have another electrical problem

Electrical fans wont kick on, car will run hot if they dont kick in..Tried changing fuses still wont come on..

The fans have a seperate temperature sensor either in the radiator or the block. Follow the fan wires to locate this sensor and unplug the sensor and with the key on touch the wires together. If the sending unit is bad the fans will come on. If the sending unit works the fan motor is bad.

Fan is not working at all. I've checked fuses...it's fine. Does the motor need to be replaced?

Fan motors aren't uncommon to go out. Coolant temp sensors are also VERY common to go out.

DON'T do this until after you have let the car sit for 1/2 hour or so. Open the hood and try to turn each fan by hand. Does it sound bad? rough to turn?? motors are bad. If all seems fairly ok, then you can either................

Work the connecters of the fans on and off a bit. Do they look corroded??

Check fuse #16 on the dash fuseblock.

Check the fuseblock on the battery, specifically the 3rd jumper bar from the left (40amp, fan control module) CAREFULLY work the nuts to make sure corrosion isn't an issue,

Also check the 1st on the left of 3 blade fuses right there (30amp, fan)

On the lower pass? side of the rad there's a thermo sensor- unplug it. It's a 3 pin connecter. I think yours has the pins arranged in a triangle form.

1
3 2

these are your pin numbers. Make sure the fans are plugged in. on the connecter, not sensor, jump pins 1 & 2. Turn key on Both fans should run at low speed. Then jump pins 2 & 3. Turn key on, both fans should run at high speed. If no go, volt test from the red wire to ground- should be 12v.
Got power? Motors are bad.

No power?? fan control module may be bad. Its under the lower rad support.

.......or try to jump the fans , where the red wires connect are power, where the brown wire would connect is ground.

good luck....

Electric fans don't run, but checks Ok. Air condition not working. compressure checks Ok,but clutch not engageing but can jump wire clutch to engage. All fuses checks good,

FIRST IS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON....YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO UNPLUG THE ECT... ELECTRONIC COOLING TEMP SENSOR.....A TWO WIRE SENSOR THAT TELLS THE COMPUTER THE TEMP OF MOTOR....WHEN THE MOTOR TEMP GETS HIGH THE COMPUTER GROUNDS THE COOLING FAN RELAY TO TURN FANS ON..IF FANS DON'T RUN WITH SENSOR UNPLUGGED THE GET A SMALL PIECE OF WIRE AND FOR A SHORT TIME SHORT THE TWO WIRES ON THE PLUG FOR SENSOR...IF IT DOES COME ON REPLACE SENSOR IF IT DOES NOT COME ON SUSPECT COMPUTER...ONLY IF ALL FUSES ARE OK LET ME KNOW

When the air conditiona is on the cooling fans don't come, I changed -fan relay - temperature sensor, no result help please, thanks

indoor fan gets signal from tstat. Move fan switch at tstat to on position still no fan. Pull tstat loose to expose wires and jump electrical from R teminal to G terminal. Still no fan go to the unit and jump samecolor wires at the R & G terminals fan works then bad tstat wire. Also feel the motor if hot motor electical windings may be open on internal thermal overload. Try to spin wheel be hand if does not spin free needs motor
