SOURCE: where is the inter lock solenoid located on 1992 chevy 2500

Depending on the mileage on the vehicle, you may have to replace the whole clutch assembly. Check the hydraulic or cable to the clutch to insure that it is working properly.

It sounds as though either the throw out bearing or pressure plate are bad. The grinding makes me want to lean towards the pressure plate.

SOURCE: clutch pedal doesn't disengage clutch

Your slave cylinder is bad,it is bolted onto the side of the transmission with 2 bolts holding it on with a clutch fluid line connected to it,it might have fluid on it from leaking and your clutch master cylinder might be low or empty, get wrench and remove fluid line and remove bolts holding slave cylinder on,take part to auto parts store and match it up to your part and install back on and refill clutch master cylinder with dot 3 brake fluid, have some one push clutch pedal to floor and hold, then open bleeder valve on slave cylinder till air is gone, keeping reservoir full when bleeding. If you are stranded ,you can refill reservoir and bleed and it will hold till you get home.

Manual trans won,t shift 87f150

When there is an issue with a manual gear box not working after a clutch replacement I am always suspicious that the clutch plate has been fitted the wrong way and the crank bolts are fowling on the cluch plate center . If the gear box was fine before and i now faulty I would go to what was done with the clutch. Also check that the clutck slave cylinder is working ok.

I am having a gear shifting problem with my Kia Sportage (4x4 Gasoline engine, 2009 version). taking off from an incline drive it is difficult to shift from first to second gear (grinding noise). Also...

Check your clutch fluid box located by your breaks master cylinder. Your clutch works like your breaks in that when you press the clutch pedal it uses hydraulics to disengage your clutch plate. If it's low or not working properly your clutch plate won't fully disengage and could lead to more problems.

My 87 jeep wrangler shifts fine when not running. will not manually shift into gear when running?

sounds like your clutch is not disengaging. when you press on the clutch pedal you should feel the resistance of the clutch pressure plate. There is a pilot bearing in the flywheel when it goes bad it continues to turn the transmission mainshaft not allowing your gears to line up for a shift, but you have noticed a bad noise if this were the cause. Or your clutch hydraulics have gone out. check your fluid level. if low you may have sucked some air into your system. you will have to bleed the lines as you would for car brakes. The other possibilities are bad clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder,

How do i fix the gearshift on a manual transmission

If the gear shift problem you refer to is that it's hard to shift into gear while stopped, the clutch is not disengaging far enough. If the clutch is hydrolic, check the fluid level. You may need to bleed it. If cable, there may be an adjustment you can do at the trans end. Or, another reason trans is hard to shift, the trans has come loose and is binding on the pilot bearing. If you have enough miles, the pilot bearing may be bad. Of course, the trans could be worn out as well.

1987 camaro transmission won't go in gear.

Sounds like your clutch is adjusted too tight...when disc gets hot, it swells a bit and will fail to disengage.
Adjust so the pedal catches a bit higher and see if that helps.
