SOURCE: timing belt on my 1999 Isuzu RodeoV-6 how to instal ?

Sounds like the tensioner pulley is week or off the spindal. Check for play at a point away from a contact point.it loose and pulley has tension you may have the wrong belt.

SOURCE: Replacing the waterpump on a 1992 Isuzu pickup

pretty safe on this old engine ,put socket and bar on the bottom pulley bolt and crank engine so starter motor cracks the bolt for you ,these older engines have a keyway on the pulley so no problem do not do this on new cars as pulley has no keyway and once the pressure is released the cambelt doesnt move and the valves go clonk

Hi, The question which i have is with regards to my 1998 Isuzu frontier 3.2 litre v6. All 6 pistons are firing, but the 3 on the driver's side seem to have no combustion. regards.

Welcome to our USA forum. that forum that has Zero, Frontiers
where is yours? Africa, Australia , where.?
the books on them very by country,
Does your V6 have 4 cams (DOHC) or just 2.
ok ever seen a spark timing light, and use it to check timing
on those cylinders, dead.? if timing is way off
the cam belt slipped.

this is your second post on same car.
"all pistons are firing" by what measure,(method??????)"
using a test spark plug, is method 1.
using timing light is method 2 , tells if cam slipped.
but if true, the the timing is off.
if not true the coil pack is bad. (or you wired it wrong)
learn to use a timing light.
learn how to do that on any of the 6 cylinders.
and win.

Timing marks for Isuzu kb200

CAM. use the full words, CAM timing. for a win.
my guess, new cam belt , installation.
posted 100s of times here, and we don't have KB in USA>
not one. nor is this engine in Europe, (ouch)
why no post your country so others can match up books.
and the words inside. matching what you have.
or go ISUZU in your town, and buy the book.
1998cc engine. (HEC-2.0 is official name of it)
wiki:
This HEC 2.0 single overhead camshaft engine with multi point fuel injection is a revised version of the 2.0 litre engine
a google search finds little, but google is mostly USA things.
There is a wiki on this car and says, its only sold in South Africa.
and shows. this.
This HEC 2.0 single overhead camshaft engine with multi point fuel injection is a revised version of the 2.0 litre engine

What cylinder is used to reset distributor on 1994 Isuzu p.u. 2.3 engine

Unlike French cars which tend to use number four cylinder as the timing cylinder, almost everyone else including Isuzu use the traditional number one as the timing cylinder, not that for practical purposes it matters very much as it is a simple matter to discover which cylinder is at the top of the compression stroke and then fit the distributor with the rotor pointing at the distributor cap segment for that cylinder.

It is the direction of distributor rotation that confuses people more than anything as many rotate anti-clockwise although I believe the one you are working with rotates clockwise. Another problem with many traditional distributor installations is they often share the oil pump drive which must both be aligned before the distributor will successfully slide home and then because of the skew-type drive gear the distributor turns considerably on the way in and then the rotor is found to be misaligned. The apprentice mechanic soon learns to anticipate and allow for these things.

If the same distributor is being refitted it is best to make alignment marks to cut the amount of time and effort. Few engines require the removal of the distributor for routine timing belt replacement and usually all that is needed is an ignition timing check with a stroboscope.

Timing belt installation

1. Ensure locking bolts located correctly [4] & [5] in the picture below:

tdisline_32.jpg
CS = Crankshaft
CA = Camshaft
IP = Injection Pump

2. Ensure timing marks aligned [10].
3. Fit timing belt in clockwise direction, starting at crankshaft sprocket.

NOTE: "ISUZU" lettering on belt should be readable from front of engine.

4. Slacken tensioner pulley bolt [9]. Push tensioner pulley against belt.
5. Ensure belt is taut between injection pump sprocket and tensioner pulley as well as crankshaft sprocket and camshaft sprocket.
6. Position tensioner lever [8] against tensioner pulley housing.
7. Remove locking bolts from sprockets [4] & [5].
8. Apply a load of 10 ... 12 kg to tensioner lever. Use spring balance [11].
9. Tighten tensioner pulley bolt to 80 Nm.
10. Turn crankshaft slowly 45 degrees anti-clockwise. Use spring balance to tension belt.
11. Repeat tensioning procedure at 45 degrees intervals for one anti-clockwise turn of the crankshaft.

NOTE: DO NOT turn crankshaft clockwise during tensioning procedure!

12. Fit tensioner lever to original position. Tighten nuts [12].
13. Install: Injection Pump flange [6], Camshaft sprocket flange [7], and water pump pulley.
14. Install components in reverse order of removal & refill coolant.

Crancshaft pullt jamming up

You must have #1 on TDC and the camshafts on the timing mark to fit a new belt , I rekon yer valves are fouling the piston .
Ignore the mark on the pump pulley .

Fly wheel problem on a jeep

if its a 4JX1 diesel, yes it goes in 1 spot yet it can be bolted up in every location
put crank pulley timing mark to TDC can also check by removing cam belt top cover and check timing mark aligned up with mark at 12 O clock then flywheel has small notch in edge that must go at 6 O clock (facing down) look closely it is hard to see due to flywheel sunk into back of block.
