My hood won't close all the way on my infinity g35

For anybody who finds themselves with this same problem currently: The male part of the catchers on either side (looks like a squarish loop) is adjustable. You might think this part is set right when fully tightened as it is attached to the hood by its ***** end. Its adjusted by either twisting it clockwise or counterclockwise. If you fully tighten them they wont reach the catch before the rubber bumber (right near the piece in question) hits where it rests. The bumpers are also adjustable and all these pieces can be used in conjunction to adjust where the hood sits on the grill side.

Hood won't close tight on my bmw745li

Try spraying a little WD 40 on the hood latch. Sometimes it gets stuck and just needs to be loosened up a bit.

Hood latch won't latch when closing

Raise hood, have some one go pull hood latch and you look at latch and see if it releases,if it doesn't then cable may need replacing,I would'nt completely shut hood cause you may not get back open, also check hood latches bolts and latch for something bent or broken.

95 audi hood latch won't release

Common problem on MANY cars. Try getting an helper to "thump" on the hood while you pull the cable. If this works to get it to pop up, I would recommend lubricating the hood latch assembly with some lithium spray lube before closing it again.

C320 hood release handle won't pop the hood

I don't think there is a day that goes by in the shop where we don't get at least one vehicle that is doing this. Just use two people. One to pull the cable release and the other to slap the hood with their hand and tell it to cooperate. Usually, just a little "jarring" with the cable pulled will get it to pop up.

I can't get hood open to my buick regal gs

WHen I have a car with a hood that won't open, I go thru the grille. Disassemble the grille off the front of the car, and anything else in the way until you can get a hand/screwdriver/pry bar/etc. on the
lock release, and reach up and release it. What happens with hood release mechanisms is that they experience rough use (hood open/close cycles combined with road vibration), and become loose. Once they're loose even a little (even as little as a quarter inch), the hood won't open.
