The question is a bit vague as the timing is controlled by a computer. If you have a 4 cylinder engine and have over 60,000 miles what you need to do is have the timing belt replaced. This casts between $300 and $400 in my area but I use independent shops, not the dealer.

If this timing belt is worn or breaks it will, not might, cause severe damage to the valves. The fix then is a new cylinder head and costs much more than a timing belt.

Motor locked up on 1994 toyota camry

The cost depends on the replacement motor, you may be able to find a used engine for around$1200, a remanufatured or rebuild engine will mcost likely cost close to $3000 for the V-6 engine, a 4 cylinder would be about $500 less, this is not counting the labor at around $1000.

I need timing belt marks for new timing belt on a 1994 Toyota Camry LE 2.2L 4 cylinder

Firstly the no.1 piston should be at TDC (compression).

The upper camshaft sprocket has a smaller hole in the web. This should be lined up exactly with the TDC timing mark behind it on the cam bearing cap. In this position it will be vertically upwards.

At the same time the notch in the crankshaft pulley timing flange should be opposite the 0 degrees mark on the timing marks on the front of the lower belt cover.
