Question about Mercury Mariner
I drove my marnier yesterday without issue. Today, I went to start the car and it won't start. I have no clue why....it makes no sound. I don't think that it's the battery as that was recently changed. What could it be? And can I jump a hybrid?
Yes, you can jump start this hybrid. Connect cables the same as a non hybrid. something was probably left on and killed the battery. Make sure the battery cables are tight on the battery.

SOURCE: vw passat 1.8t battery problem?
Either your battery has just given up the ghost,........ Is it the original, and now 10 yrs old ?
Or your Alternator is not charging enough, to replenish what is used.
Have battery tested first, if OK, then the alternator belt tension, and alternator for correct output charging rate.
If all these shows no faults, your starter is then suspect.
Good Luck !
A FixYa would be nice thanks !....John.

Remove the lugs at the battery. Clean the posts and the lugs - then reconnect. Your battery won't charge (and the jumpers won't work) largely because of a film on the + post and lug. If you live in a hot summer area, (Arizona) the problem is especially troublesome.
