SOURCE: Can you disable car alarm in 1991 Acura Legend by

If it's a cheap aftermarket alarm, check for a red wire coming off the hot side of your battery with an inline fuse. If it's not, try to locate the alarm "computer" under the driver's side dash or nearby your fuse panel. You'll find a black box with a wiring diagram glued to the side, normally strapped to a wiring harness or other fixed element. If this is the type of alarm you have, you'll need to trace each wire coming from the alarm computer and unclip each fastener that's clipped to your vehicle's factory wiring. The trouble with these types of alarms is that they can get power from a number of sources (stereo, interior lights, etc.). Good luck with this one!

SOURCE: how to remove starter from 1991 acura legend

Follow the battery wire (disconnected) to the starter and remove the nut and solenoid wire. There should be two bolts to the bellhousing (a old term for the transmission to engine piece).

SOURCE: My 1994 Acura Legend keeps running hot. Gauge

When the car is completely cool,check the electric fan(s) for smooth rotation.

Clean/check/change the thermo sensor,contact and wire.

===

Excavate air pocket in coolant system / check for head gasket leak

This test will kill two birds with one stone.

===

MAKE SURE THE COOLANT SYSTEM and ENGINE IS COLD!

RAN THIS TEST IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA ONLY!

You will spill some coolant during this air pocket purge test.......BE KIND TO THE ENVIRONMENT and ANIMAL please clean up after the test!

===

Put the front end on a pair of ramp or park your car on a VERY STEEP HILL (radiator facing top of the hill) .

Top of the coolant reserve tank

Let it ran for 10-15 minutes.

Monitor for air pockets escaping from coolant reserve tank.

Small amount of bubbles is OK at 1-5 minute mark

After the thermostat open up (after 195 F warm up) at
5-12 minute mark or after high idle you should see less bubbles.

If you do not see any in rush of bubbles then your thermostat may be partially stuck or rusted badly inside the thermostat hosing.

Give the thermostat host few gentle taps.

If you see larger bubbles surfacing after 15 minutes then should do a hydrocarbon (HC) dye test to test for potential head gasket leak.

Let engine cold down and top off coolant reserve tank.

Start monitor for coolant lost

===

A coolant flush is require every 2 years or 24,000 miles.

I recommend the thermostat that has a relief pop-let to reduce the change of burst radiator and coolant hoses.

Make sure you get a new thermostat gasket,black RTV and fresh coolant for the job.

SOURCE: symptoms a 1991 acura legend water pump is

The water pump on your vehicle is ran by the timing belt.The timing belt will have to be removed to change the water pump.You have a engine that is classified as interference witch means that it will bend the valves if the timing belt goes out.I would recomend that while you are doing the water pump you should change the timing belt to be on the safe side.

SOURCE: Radio code of Acura legend-1991

You need to get the serial number off the sticker attached to the radio. It will require pulling apart your dash. Call an Acura dealership with that serial number and they should be able to provide you the code.

I have a 1991 legend it idols high even in park or gear

When an issue such as this occurs, you have a faulty TPS (throttle position sensor), they are inexpensive, and easy to replace. The TPS sensor is on your injection system's throttle body. Follow the air intake hose from the air cleaner box back to the throttle body. There you will see the TPS, it is usually held on by a couple of screws, and has at least 1 plug, but may have 2. You can pick up one at just about any auto parts store.

1991 acura legend idles fine forever but driven for a short distance overheats and overflows coolant tank, also noticed the fans don't go on. thermostat has been replaced.

Legends are notorious for blowing head gaskets- the most obvious signs of a BHG (blown head gasket) are:
White milky substance on the bottom of your oil cap
white sweet smelling exhaust
a surging idle when the car is started cold.

Have a mechanic run a compression check on all 6 cylinders- this is the most sure fire way to tell what the problem is.

If all cylinders are good to go- check the hoses going to and from the heater core- these sometimes crack and **** in air which will create problems.

Water pumps for this vehicle are recommended from acura to change every 60000 miles so that could be your issue too.

1991 Acura Legend No Brakes

The only common issue I know if is the master cylinder leaking, but if you changed the booster you would have found your leak.

Check for fluid at the brake pedal under the dash.
