Question about 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora

P0603 code Last week my check engine light comes on saying bank one and bank two running too lean. a week later it turns off before i could replace my mass air flow sensor. Now i have a new code, p0603- random access memory fault/ failed ecm and now only bank one is running too lean as well. would this be a pcm issue or is it really my ecm acting up? i'm nervous to clear the codes by disconnecting my battery to see it comes back on. i'm thinking it might not know how to run correctly if it does have this issue. any suggestions before i spend gobs of money on a ecm or pcm. Thank you!!

I dont think you have a choice? i would Disconnect the battery, & check codes again after. If i have doubts, i alwyas start with the least exspensive parts first.

P0603

Hello. You can give it a try by diconncting the battery. If it does give you problems again, then you need to go to a well know junkyard that have good condition cars and items. Look for the same cars as yours and get both the ecm and pcm.

Failed ecm p0603

Instead of guessing as to what the problem is or expecting someone on here having a magical fix , take it to a qualified repair shop. Before assuming the worst an wanting to condem the PCM - powertrain control module . Will a scan tool communicate with it ? If your pulling codes it is .
DTC P0603 Control Module Long Term Memory Reset
The PCM has a memory area where it stores certain data it needs to save when the key is turned OFF. This area is called Keep Alive Memory. This diagnostic test monitors the PCM's keep alive memory for a loss or unintended change of data. If such a condition occurs, DTC P0603 will set.
Diagnostic Aids
If the battery has been disconnected for any reason DTC P0603 will set. The PCM keeps a running check on the memory; if memory changes it resets. An intermittent loss of power or ground to the PCM will cause a reset.

Have you disconnected the battery ?

Tried getting ford f150 4.2 2003 inspected. Replaced air filter and fuel filter already. Check engine lit was on before replacing them . Now check engine light is out . But won't pass inspection.

As for your codes p1131 and 1151: Ford - Lack Of Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 Switches - Sensor Indicates Lean

Last week I had the very same catalyst, evap and ECG codes come up on my 1999 Mercury Mystique which is like a Ford Taurus. A friend was able to find a hole or leak in the hose connected, replaced it and it runs fine. I havent run it a full and straight 50 miles yet to clear the check engine light but that repair alone changed the entire way the car was poorly driving. Im sure that hasnt fixed all the probs but thats a good starting point.

Last time you changed your fuel filter?
Look for any vacuum leaks.

My car has been "stuttering"

First check all the vacuum lines and hoses. Then remove the mass air flow sensor(maf) and spray it down with brake clean, just the inside and hit the part that hangs down front and back, don't use a brush on it. these are the only two things that I know of that will give you lean codes on both banks at the same time. If this doesn't help have the maf sensor checked.

Engine codes run on 2004 Freestar

Make sure you have all the vacuum leaks repaired.
Disconnect the battery for two mins, codes my clear.
The codes you got are O2 Sensors, because of the vacuum leak, which leaned out the readings and set the codes.

2002 AUDI A4 OIL LIGHT COMES ON AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.

The code system too lean, is caused by the bank 1 02 sensor, as far as the oil light coming on with oil ok,I would say the oil sending unit. Have those checked or replaced. Without testing this and that, it's hard to say what's causing it.

Check Engine Light - O2 Sensor - bank 1 running lean

you should have three oxygen sensors on your car, one for each bank of three cylinders; should be towards the Y pipe on each exhaust manifold. Additionally you should have one on the exhaust pipe before the cadilitic converter.
