Look from underneath the car find the a/c lines where they go thru the body on that side of the car in the back remove the plastic trim panel to get to the rear a/c unit and some times dis-assemble the box to get to the valve

On my 2001 gmc yukon what is the rear expansion valve and where is it located

The expansion valve regulates the amount of freon entering the rear evaporator. It is directly connected to the evaporator inlet tubing and has a temperature sense bulb attached to a fin of the evaporator.

Need the location of the front expansion valve on a Kia Sedona 2006 if you have a picture it will help a lot thanks

Modern AC systems don't use an expansion valve, but rather an orifice tube, usually located in the high side line where it attaches to the evaporator near the firewall.

Where is expansion valve located

The Expansion valve is located in the evaporator box

On this year Nissan it's not to bad of a job. The dash doesn't need to be removed like the newer cars.

  1. To replace the expansion valve, you will need to discharge the AC system. Remove the two AC lines from the evaporator.
  2. Then you will need to remove the glove box
  3. Then you will need to unbolt the evaporator box
  4. Tip it back and remove.
  5. Once you have the evaporator box removed, then you can replace the expansion valve. I would also clean the evaporator box as well since you will have it removed.

Where to locate the ac expansion valve for 2003 acura 3.2 tl

  1. Remove the filter lid (A), then pull out the dust and pollen filters (B).

  2. Pull out the evaporator temperature sensor (C) from the evaporator fins.

  3. Remove the screws, carefully separate the upper housing (D) from the lower housing (E), then remove the evaporator core (F).

  4. If necessary, remove the expansion valve (G). Use a second wrench to hold the other fitting on the valve so the evaporator line won't twist. Leave the first fitting loosely connected so you can use it to hold the valve while you loosen the second fitting.

  5. Reassemble the evaporator in the reverse order of disassembly, and note these items:

    • Replace all O-rings, with new ones at each fitting and apply a thin coat of refrigerant oil before installing them. Be sure to use the right O-rings for HFC-134a (R-134a) to avoid leakage.
    • Immediately after using the oil, reinstall the cap on the container, and seal it to avoid moisture absorption.
    • Install the capillary tube (H) directly against the outlet line, and wrap it with electrical tape (I).
    • Reinstall the evaporator temperature sensor in its original location.
    • Make sure no air is leaking from the upper housing and the lower housing fitting.
