Check Transmission Fluid, On LEVEL Ground. Models vary, but it will usually be with Vehicle Idling While in Park Or Neutral. It will usually say on the dipstick, on how this vehicle is to be checked for Proper Level. Fluid should be bright clear red. if it is a burnt red, it is well overdue. Make sure you purchase the Correct type for your model

Possible v.s.s (vehicle speed sensor).this sensor is located at the tail shaft of the transmission.this would also cause shift pattern concerns because p.c.m doesn't know what speed the van is going.there's a plastic gear on sensor that sometimes apple cores (wears out in the center of gear, taking the shape of an eaten apple, this would result in gear not moving.

2004 impala gear is stuck

don't understand your problem? if the car is stuck in a certain gear,i.e.second and won't shift check for engine codes for pssiblr "limp in mode" operation. if the car won't come out of park, check the shift interlock solenoid operation.

You may have shorted out a wire or two during the replacement. I would check the wiring harnesses under the hood, all the fuses and for error codes (DTC's) using a code reader before doing anything else.

Car won't go into gear, only neutral

Too much trans fluid would not prevent it from going into gear. Do you have a check engine light on? This is probably going to be expensive. Get it to a transmission shop.

01 Impala LTZ with 3.8 Trans won't shift out of

CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL FIRST BUT IT SOUND LIKE YOU NEED A FLUID AND FILTER CHANGE IF TRANSMISSION FILTER STOPPED UP TRANSMISSION PUMP CAN DRAW FLUID THROUGH CLOGGED FILTER.WHEN ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION GET HOT FLUID WILL GET HOT AND THIN ENOUGH TRAVEL THROUGH FILTER SO CAR CAN SHIFT INTO OVER DRIVE.DO A FLUID AND FILTER CHANGE SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

1995 chevy impala ss won't go in reverse

This is usually a pressure problem. Reverse takes more pressure than any other gear. Either worn, old o-rings or front pump.

2002 Impala: transmission limp mode...

Most transmissions have a limp mode, or limp-home mode.
If the driveline computer thinks there is something wrong, it can lock the transmission into one gear, such as 2nd gear. Usually reverse will also be available. The Impala automatic has 4 speeds. 2nd speed or gear will get you home, but the engine rpms can get a little high. I wouldn't get on the expressway will in limp mode.
Before taking to the shop, you might want to try and reset limp mode by turning the car off for a couple minutes, or you may have to disconnect and reconnect the battery.
