Why is overdrive light flashing orange when the car warms up and has been driven for about 8 miles?

/D OFF Indicator The instrument cluster receives the O/D OFF indicator status from the PCM over the communication network. When the overdrive function is turned off, the PCM sends a command to the instrument cluster to turn on the O/D OFF indicator. When a powertrain concern exists, the O/D OFF indicator flashes amber and illuminates green when overdrive is selected off. What code ? you said solenoid A -
P0750 SSA SSA Solenoid Circuit Failure SSA circuit failed to provide voltage drop across solenoid. Circuit open or shorted or PCM driver failure during on-board diagnostic. No reverse gear (short) or no 4th gear (open). MIL on. Go To Pinpoint Test A . P0751 SSA SSA Functional Failure (Stuck Off) Mechanical or hydraulic failure of the shift solenoid. Not all gears present, MIL on. Refer to Diagnosis By Symptom . P0752 SSA SSA Functional Failure (Stuck On) Mechanical or hydraulic failure of the shift solenoid. Not all gears present, MIL on. Location transmission sensor

no year. (in USA it started in 1999) are you in uSA< GV stated in EU in 89, and in japan.,so...
no transmission options stated.
why are you looking for it, curious?, or the Scan tool says its bad.?\

the A/T most years, is shifted by the TCM, brain, puter.
on newer cars the TCM is hidden inside the PCM. (a new home)
so does the exact same things.
THE TCM shifts the car. based on inputs (many)
and one is the 4SPEED, A/T tail sensor, or tail shaft RPM sensor
if you SCAN the ECU/PCM it will tell you anytime this sensor fails
with P07xx DTC codes,
you got codes? are just symptoms and web guesses.
scan it. using ANY OBD2 scan tool (USA)
got codes?
got symptoms, post it? for far batter answers.
fore best help:

engine size and cylinder count
and if 4speed A/T
and if its 4WD. my guess is yes, many suz had 2wd options...

the FSM covers A/T on car tests. need that?
A/T are complex. so post the symptoms first, hot engine, cold engine.
and what gears mess up, upshift and down shifting...

Auto transmission low in 1st gear

There is either a wire problem from the PCM to the transmission or the shift solenoid is bad or the wiring to it under the transmission pan. A scan tool would need to be hooked up and that solenoid turned on and off with the scan tool and see if when its turned on the yellow/black wire will switch to a ground when commanded. If it does more than likely the shift solenoid is bad, else, switch a ground the wiring from the PCM is bad or the PCM its self is bad.

Bad pcm symptoms

There are no symptoms that point directly to a PCM. The way a PCM is usually diagnosed is by confirming that everything into it is good and even then it's iffy.

Transmission wont shift after 2nd gear

I wouldn't think that two transmissions would have the same bad 2-3 shift solenoid . Probably a wiring problem or the driver (transistor ) in side the control module . Do you know how to do automotive electrical testing ? Find the PCM - powertrain control module , then looking at a wiring diagram find the circuit from the PCM to the transmission wiring connector . An check the circuit ! Free wiring diagrams at Enter vehicle info. year , make , model and engine size . Under system click on transmission/ transaxle , subsystem transmission controls . Click the search button then the blue link .The first diagram shows 2-3 shift solenoid electrical circuit from PCM connector 2 - pin 44 to the trans. connector - C 113 pin B . Check for a open in the wire ,if no open check to see if the PCM driver is supplying a ground . Videos on youtube show how to test this .

2000 Grand Caravan stays in limp mode, won't shift from 2nd gear. Dealership said the PCM was the problem. PCM has been replaced, and same problems exists. What are any other possibilities for this...

usually its not the pcm that goes bad, it is the big electrical connection block that on the front of the trans.. i have saw many of these bad. its the big connector.. its most likely bad in the trans.

Output Shaft Speed Sensor (OSS) 7H103: The output shaft speed (OSS) sensor is a magnetic pickup, located at the output shaft ring gear that sends a signal to the powertrain control module to indicate transmission output shaft speed. The powertrain control module uses this signal for torque converter clutch control, shift scheduling, used in determining EPC pressure. 1995 blazer s-10 4l60 e drive down block shifts get bad wont pull so i parked went to check for reverse and drive no reverse no drive nothing shut off start right back up and have both again ??

Presuming the fluid level is full,it is quite common for a broken reverse sun shell to give the symptoms you are experiencing,as well as some other areas that could also give similar symptoms such as burnt clutch packs,or the torque convertor going bad,and eventually the vehicle will stop pulling altogether.If the fluid is full,the problem is pretty much going to require trans removal and repair.Further diagnostic would include installing a mechanical oil pressure gauge onto the transmission to monitor main line pressure and see what it's doing while the trans is acting up and not pulling,and this does require a gauge capable of handling 300 psi.Also pull diagnostic trouble codes from the vehicle computer (PCM).Good luck.
