How do I beaf up my suspension on a 05 Toyota Tacoma

I have a 05 Toyota Tacoma, double cab, V6, with the TRD Off Road package. My problem is that when I have 4 friends in the truck with a little bit of gear in the back, I feel like I'm bottoming the suspension out on bumps. I'm about to start towing quite a bit with the truck and I'm wondering what my options are for beafing up the rear suspension? It already has a reciever hitch and trailer lights. I'm on a bit of a budget, but depending on the solution, I'm willing to spend some $$. Thanks for any advice.

I would suggest an aftermarket add on. There are helper/overload springs that you can install yourself. They are cambered leafs that fit over the axle with contact points on each end that won't touch the existing leaf springs until you are loaded, at that point the 2 contact points will touch the existing springs and assume some of the load. When this occurs, naturally it will affect the ride of the truck, but when you are not loaded, your ride will be unaltered.

Addendum to solution: Be careful, if not leary if adding anything other than springs/leafs that take over when load is applied...reason...Not only will other solutions alter the ride, handling/manuverability of the vehicle, anything that changes the ride height can not only void warranty, but it nullifies any crash test results and data on your vehicle.

The super spring is a great product, however, I think it is pricey for your application. I believe you can solve your problem for a lot less money, but, you won't be disappointed with the results from the Super Spring, just the price.

I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma Double cab and up until a few months ago my radio was working perfectly, but now my reception is terrible. Do you think the antenna has become disconnected underneath the dash...

Your diagnosis sounds about right. Antenna cable is large round cable pushed into rear of radio. Common with bouncing/stiff suspension on trucks.

A dim or dead display is a very common problem with the 05-09 Tacoma. The console is very prone to internal failure. I offer a reasonable repair service with a lifetime guarantee, check it out: www.autoclockrepair.com

No power,

My truck did the same thing. I changed the plugs with the ones the parts store recommended and it still acted gutless. Then I took it to the toyota dealership and they told me the plugs were not the right ones. So make sure you have the right plugs with a couple different parts store. i guess there sensitive and not just any plugs will work. Do it yourself though cause the dealership will rape you. Stevenson toyota in Golden colorado sucks!

Engine Light On

At first it will cost you from $60-70 (Midas) to nothing if you go to the nearest parts store (you need to call them and ask if they do it for free, I can suggest Autozone) and do the computer diagnostic of your car to get the malfunction codes. After you get the codes you can call the repair shops and get the estimate. But first you can try to do to change the gas station and use a fuel injector cleaner (form $1 to $6 in Walmart).
Good Luck
