fuel problem or timing problem i had same problem on 94 aerostar found out the dist. was bad and timing off by 20* bought used dist. adjusted timing runs beautiful

it sounds like your crank positions sensor is going bad, take it out and clean it up and then see if it works, you might have to replace it but try to clean it first.

2001 ford taurus wont start


I see that you replaced battery, coil, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Did you or do you have a check engine light or SES light on? If you did not I agree with the problem being Anti theft which includes a replacement key not having a transponder chip. BUT at the same time it could be something as simple as dirty battery post or bad battery cables, since sometimes it does start. I RECOMMEND CHECKING THE BATTERY CABLES FIRST. let me know if this works for you.

check for a vacumn leak, my buddy has a 96 dually that did that,found out it was his temp sensor to the computor,was showing a negative # when i tested it,he replaced it and it fixed everything! He couldn't believe it LOL

1992 toyota truck will turn over, but not start right away, it will sputter and sometimes start, once it is started it runs fine. Whats causing the delayed start?


when was the last time you changed your spark plugs,wires,distributer cap and rotor.sounds like you need a basic tune up. 22 engine?

96 probe


Pull the CPS Plug apart and clean that.
It's the grey one near the cambelt end and leads down to the crankshaft pully.
