Check the distributor, it's been know that the breather screen at the bottom of the distributor get's plugged up with dirt and condensation forms creating corrosion to the cam sensor in the distributor causing the improper signal to the ecm. Take the distributor and rotor off and clean out the screen and look for any corrosion to wires that needs to be addressed. Good luck and hope this helps, the other thing you may want to look at is the MAP sensor, it should be right on the intake manifold on the passenger side. Disconnect the harness and see if it starts, if the engine starts, replace the map sensor.
Good luck and hope this helps. Start with the map sensor since that's the easier one to check out if the two. Keep me posted, be glad to help.

Sounds like you may have a crack in your distributor cap and you are getting condensation under/in the cap.

My Blazer cranks over and over...killed the battery : ...next morning the second time I tried cranking it over it made a poof sound and started but with a lot of chugging. Can anybody help please?

Lynda, If it is the 4.3 V6, they are prone to getting moisture in distributor which causes the symptoms you are talking about including the poof. You can have scanned to see if trouble codes are stored, you may get multiple misfire.
If continues doing this have cap and rotor replaced and if wires and plugs are old do them to. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

2004 chevy blazer drove through lots of water on the freeway but now it won;t start?

It IS possible that you went thru a bunch a water that may have slipped underneath the back hood seal, which could of gotten inside the distributor cap located right under the seal. Symptoms of this: will turn over, but not start. An old trick is to take the cap off and spray WD40 under the cap on the contacts and the rotor. The WD in WD40 stands for Water Displacement, so completely safe for this use, used it many times myself. In my case it was on purpose offroading in mud/water. :) Careful while taking the cap off, the tabs that the screws go into are plastic! Will break easily if not careful when re-installing.

1992 Plymouth Voyager won't start after it rains

I don't know if this is the same, but I used to have a 87 Chrysler LeBaron. It ran great until you washed it or it started raining. Then it would die and it wouldn't start until 2 or 3 days later after it dried out. I took it to the shop several times, they always said it was the fuel pump. It turned out to be the wiring that runs next to the battery, had the insulation eaten away from battery acid over the years. I wrapped the wiring next to the battery in a piece of plastic and I never had another problem with it. Sounds cheesy I know, but it was ironic that several shops looked at it and couldn't figure it out. As far as white smoke that might be a differant problem.
