I have a 2006 envoy and it has a computer is on the engine and it will crank but it dies if i take a heat lamp and put on it then it will run do i need to replace computer

1 thing to check before you go replacing the PCM. We have plastic intake manifolds which are right below the PCM where your heat lamp was. With temperature related problems similar to this, I'd check the manifold bolts for tightness (these have a tendency to become loose causing vacuum problems). Easiest to check are #5 & #6 near the firewall. When the engine warms up, the plastic will expand causing no problems, but when it's cold, will contract and have vacuum leaks. Do you have any check engine lights? is a good sight for repairing PCM problems if you deem this is indeed the problem. You can send your PCM in and they even send you a loaner PCM while yours is being repaired, but they have several programs to choose from.

PO606 in 2004 GMC envoy what does this mean

PCM Processor Fault. A couple of things, check the wiring around the PCM, check for frays in the wiring. There is a Technical Service Bulletin for this problem also, where your pcm would need to be re-flashed (computer update) by the dealer, I believe it's around $100 to do this.

You can also try to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes or so to reset the computer. Some people have just cleared the code by doing this (or with a code reader) and the code never showed back up again.

I have a 2002 GMC Envoy and the cruise control not working now. Worked before

Most times when this happens with Envoys and Trailblazers, your PCM or computer is storing a check engine code, which will disable cruise control. Scan your vehicle with an OBDII scanner to see what code may be stored. Once the code is cleared, your cruise control will work again.

2006 envoy fan clutch or PCM

The emission controls (or PCM) do what you are describing intentionally. There is an electrically controlled fan clutch. It is noisey when cold. The shifts are held to increase engine speed to heat up the catalytic converter faster.

Envoy 2002

You need to find a shop with a Tech 2 scanner. The pcm has to be recalibrated because when the fan clutch goes bad it back feeds into the computer and stores a hard code. And because the 02 is the first year for this style envoy its a pos! And these A**Holes from GM thought it was a good idea to have a electronic throttle body and gas peddle.
