Why is it my 2008 chevy uplander rear wiper motor/blade moves some and stops. I let van set 5-10 minutes with key off. Turn on key. Wiper motor/blade moves a few degrees and then stops again. Why?

WDA/Z88 The rear wiper is controlled based on an input from the rear wiper/washer portion of the multifunction switch. When closed, the wiper ON and wiper DELAY switches provide a unique voltage signal to the rear window wiper motor indicating the desired speed. Each switch has a unique resistor that drops the voltage to a specified value which is interpreted by the rear window wiper motor as ON or DELAY. The rear wiper motor receives B+ voltage from the I/P fuse block and accessory voltage from the body control module (BCM).
W49 The rear wiper is controlled based on an input from the rear wiper/washer switch. When closed, the wiper ON switch provides a voltage signal to the rear window wiper motor indicating rear wiper operation is requested. The rear wiper motor receives B+ voltage from the I/P fuse block and accessory voltage from the body control module (BCM).

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector X1 at the multifunction switch.
  2. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal 4 and ground.
  3. ?‡'
    If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, refer to Power Mode Mismatch.

  4. Ignition OFF, connect the harness connector at the multifunction switch. Disconnect the harness connector at the rear window wiper motor.
  5. Test for less than 20 ohms between the ground circuit terminal B and ground.
  6. ?‡'
    If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

  7. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal A and ground.
  8. ?‡'
    If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for an open/high resistance.

  9. Verify a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal E and ground.
  10. ?‡'
    If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.

  11. Rear wiper switch in the ON position, test for B+ between the signal circuit terminal D and ground.
  12. ?‡'
    If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the multifunction switch.

  13. Rear wiper switch in the DELAY position, test for B+ between the signal circuit terminal D and ground.
  14. ?‡'
    If less than the specified value, test or replace the multifunction switch.

  15. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the rear window wiper motor.

2012 Chevy Silverado low beam light not working.


Regular headlamps or HID ? Check the HDLP LO/HID relay in the under hood fuse / relay box . Will be marked on the inside of the lid . Do you know what a BCM is ? body control module. Could have DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored .
DTC 2575 00: Headlamp Low Beam Control Circuit
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the low beam relay.
  2. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between the control circuit terminal 87 and ground.
  3. ?‡'
    If the test lamp illuminates, test the control circuit for a short to voltage.

  4. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 30 and ground.
  5. ?‡'
    If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.

  6. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 86 and ground.
  7. ?‡'
    If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for an open/high resistance.

  8. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the inoperative low beam headlamp.
  9. Ignition OFF, scan tool OFF, exterior lamps OFF, test for less than 5.0 ohms between the ground circuit terminal B and ground.
  10. ?‡'
    If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

  11. Connect the harness connector at the inoperative low beam headlamp.
  12. Connect a 40A fused jumper wire between the B+ circuit terminal 30 and the control circuit terminal 87. Verify the low beam headlamps are activated.
  13. ?‡'
    If the low beam headlamps do not activate, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the inoperative low beam headlamp.

  14. Connect a test lamp between the B+ circuit terminal 86 and the control circuit terminal 85.
  15. Command the Low Beams ON and OFF with a scan tool. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states.
  16. ?‡'
    If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.

    If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.

  17. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the low beam relay.

What kind of noise. First of all is your oil full? Is it a tapping noise, or a thud from below. Does it squeal? you need to be more specific.

wash engine down good and run try to pin point one leak at a time.they known for oil preasure switchs, valve cover gaskets, oil pad gasket,and rear main seals leaking. good luck with that one.

I have heard that you NEVER need to replace the rear brakes on a Prius. Is this true?


That is TOTALLY false. The rear brakes will wear out just as the fronts on the prius. Have them checked every 20 to 30,000 miles.
