SOURCE: spark plug gap

Notice: This engine has aluminum cylinder heads. Do not remove the spark plugs from a hot engine, allow it to cool first. Removing the spark plugs from a hot engine may cause spark plug thread damage or cylinder head damage.
Gap the spark plug, using round wire type spark plug gap gage.

Gap Adjust the spark plug gap to 1.14 mm (0.045 in).

DO NOT coat the spark plugs with anti seize compound. Over torquing could occur and damage to the cylinder head threads may result.

If your going to use Platnum plugs, DO NOT GAP them. Just check the gap and if there not the right gap, ask for new one's with the right gap.

The metal on the PLatnum plugs, are harder and my break apart in the cylinder .

Good luck and hope this helps

1998 pontiac firebird coil pack, will coil make it miss on 1 cylinder, 3800 engine, misfiring, have changed plugs and wires

yes, it can happen. check for spark from the number one coil using spark plug wire and hold it near a grounded point. it should be a consistent spark with engine running. compare to different coil wire for verification. those coil packs are partially replace able because each coil fires two plugs. replace the no.1 portion with a new one from parts store. 28.00

This 1999 grand am uses platinum sparkplugs and should not be regaped, the plugs are to be installed as them come, just take a look at the gap to make sure no one dropped them and closed the gap completly but otherwise install them as they come good day.

I need the gap for a 2004 pontiac grand am

What engine ? if it is a 3.8l or 3800, there is no gap, the Bosch plugs for that engine do not require it.

What is the gap on the spark plugs for 2000 grand am

If your car has the four cylinder engine the spark plug gap is .050. If you have the six cylinder engine in your car, the spark plug gap is .060. Hope this helped and best wishes.

How many spark plugs does my 1996 pontiac transport need

Your transport has a 6 cylinder engine ( the only one available tor that year), so u need 6 spark plugs. They should come w/ the gap set, but u should check them to make sure they're gapped properly, at .060 for your van.
