SOURCE: Engine tappet clearances
According to http://freespace.virgin.net/tommy.sandham/databook.htm# Rocker Adjustment, the cold clearance is .008" intake/.018" exhaust in the non-GT 1500cc, and .012" intake/.022 exhaust on the GT. Sweet little car!!!

Have a look at the coil and its supply lead, standard it has a 9v coil and a resistor wire in the harness, this gives trouble ar resistor wire is odd and will not solder or weld and its expansion when hot loosens crimps! If you put 12 volts into a 9v coil it overwhelms (magneticly) the windings and gives a poor spark, also burns the points.

You have me confused? There is no clearance between the prop-shaft and the gearbox. THe front of the prop-shaft slides over the splines on the end of the gearbox and the end of the shaft bolts onto the flange on the differential which locates the prop-shaft longitudinally, with a bit of sliding movement allowed on the splines for suspension and engine movement. Come back to me if that is not what you were asking.
