SOURCE: I got a camshaft position sensor malfunction code P0340.

it sounds like you have bigger problems if your car does not crank(turn over) then your timing belt could have broken and the one piston could be hitting a valve causing it to be locked up.normally when any sensor is bad car engine still cranks it just doesn't start.

SOURCE: I have a 96 explorer

P0125 is Insufficient Coolant Temp For Closed Loop Fuel Control

P0756 is Shift Solenoid B Performance or Stuck Off
P0340 is Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction

The P0125 can probably be cleared by replacing the thermostat. That part is under $15.00
The P0340 can probably be cleared by replaceing the Cam position sensor. That part is about $25.00

The P0756 is a transmission issue and It will involve removing the fluid pan and taking out the valve body to get to the solenoid.

The thermostat and cam sensor should take about an hour of shop time to change so I would figure about $150.00 to $200.00..Depends on the shop and if there is a minumum charge. Some shops charge 4 hrs. min.

the trans issue may get involved so I don't really want to make a guess, but I would say less than $500.00, depends on what all is involved in getting to the solenoid and changing it.

I have a 2003 rav4 that the malfunction indicator lamp came on, so what is the problem?

go or call you local auto parts store and see if they will use the trilingual code reader, this device talks to the cars computer and it diagnoses the problem and gives you a code, than you look up the code or the auto parts store can look it up for you and you buy the part, ask the service or counter person to help you install it or ask for the installation guide to be printed out.

if they dont have the product than think of buying your own device, you can buy one on line at
www.harborfreight.com
diagnostic device cen-tech: trilingual code readers
part no. 98568, 62142, 49.99 + 6.99 fed ex shipped in 24 hours
or go to you local store, go on line look for the location near you

ebay and amazon.com also prices ????????????????

Cen tech code reader problems 98568

All OBD Codes are on the internet with
print,charts,video,solutions

You Type your codes & read up

Study OBD 2 Systems also

OBD PO171
OBD PO174

I had to Google Cen Tech as i never heard of it

They appear to be inexpensive low end for sure

You won't get a lot of data out it

If your never planning on going to professional software,
consider the top scan/code reader type tools like Innova Professional or at least mid level Actron & a couple other brands

You really need to see sensors, emission monitors, so
your ready for inspection

You will only get Generic Codes from a code reader
not body functions likes abs,air conditioning, srs,& others

More data is better-- you will learn these systems as time goes by

They have been with us for 35 years now

OBD1 15 years
OBD2 20 years

Cen-Tech code P0113 intake air temperature sensor 1 circuit high.

Check intake air boot or duct for a small 2 wire sensor, you may have not seen it as u pulled duct out of your way, don't feel bad I've done it before check that first , if u can't find one that it will be a internal part of the m,a,f, mass air flow sensor , usually a big round sensor inline of intake duct both of these will be before the throttle body ,mag has 4-6 wire connector !

I have a 1999 BMW 740 il My SES light came on so I hooked up my OBD code reader p0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction is what came up. so I went to the BMW parts department and bought the Camshaft Position Sensor.
I Replaced the with the new. I'm not sure how to reset my SES light and if I just replaced the Camshaft Position Sensor why dose it the OBD code p0340 still come up. Any suggestions?

Put a checker on it and got a p03000 random multiple cyl misfire

Whens the last time you gave it a tune up???Check the distributor. It may have water or moisture in it or the rotor may have a hole burn't in it..Check all wires..If all that stuff is good look around for a vacuum leak.Maybe a hose came of the air cleaner or one off the duck work going to the intake..If that stuff is good then try giving it a fuel pressure test. That should help you with the problem..Have a great night..
