Have you tried resetting the fuel shut off switch? Check the fuel cut out relay switch out with one of the other relays that are the same and see if you get the power. What are the other fuses for that do not have power as some wires supply multiple devices.

I just got in here checking my email and saw your note. I'll track down a electrical diagram for your car in the morning after I get the kids off to school and the wife to work. You can do this we just have to get a look at the schematic and find the common denominator to the lack of voltage. You mentioned in your first question that there were some other fuses that did not have voltage and I asked what they were . There may be a connection between them and it may help us troubleshoot your problem. Hold off buying a pressure switch just yet. I also need to know did you check about a fuel shutoff switch like I said. They are usually behing the kick panel on the passenger side by the right leg. Some vehicles have them in the trunk area but your's being a Vette I would check the kick panel . I will know more after I get the wiring diagram for the vehicle. Also what engine do you have? has the car been in a wreck or fallen off a jack stand any thing like that ? The reason I am asking is if so then it could have tripped the fuel shutoff switch, that is there to shut the fuel off in case of an accident. I had one trip on me when I had a bad blowout on the right front tire. That is most likely NOT your problem but we need to eliminate it anyway. Also is this something that just happened and the car had been running or did you just get it and it was like this? I am trying to cover all bases so some of the questions you may find not relavant but that is how I find problems that others miss. When you say you ave no power to the fuse in the inside fuse box did you remove the fuse and use a test light or meter and check both contacts? Please remember to list the other fuses mising voltae and if the key is in the on position or off position when testing. Does the engine turn over when you try to start it? Did you run a jumper wire to the hot wire on the pump and listen to see if it activates? I'll check bacl in the morning. Thanks, have a good night

Ok ckeck out the fuel pressure regulator. It should be located on the left side of the engine near the top at the fuel rail. It will be round and heeld in place by a c clip. First pull the vacuum hose off and see if any fuel comes out if it does then it\'ss bad and will cause missing, loss of power hard or no starting. If you put a fuel pressure gauge on it you could chec to see if the pressure is up to specs. This is a vacuum diaphram operated fuel regulator. Also just because fuel doesn\'t come out doe not 100 % mean it\'s not bad it could be sticking from a grain of sand, metal, etc. Since it is vacuum regulated on the back side of the regulator is another vacuum hose most likely with an elbow in it. Take the plastic and rubber part off for inspection The rubber part of the hohas an elbow in it that will crack and suck air so that even with a new regulator it may work better somewhat but you will still have trouble if the vacuum line has a crack in it. I have seen one that you had to bend the elbow slightly to see the crack in the line. It can be sneaky if you just look at it you may miss the leak. If you have to remove it and plug one end with your finger and blow on the other end after you soak it with soapy water so you can see the air bubbles from the leak. . The line will be a dealer item but the regulator can be picked up at most autoparts stores. herre\'s an idea if it won\'t start have someone try to start the engine and then spray a little starting fluid in it. If it starts and dies I would look at the regulator because it is not getting the fuel it needs. .A new regulator is around $50 or so . let me know what you find.

That joint & where wires separate, would be a good spot to use a clamp on amp meter, if you have, or know someone who has one, then you could get reading on each one, and zero in on one(s) with most draw.

SOURCE: fuel pump inline fuse for firebird

First clarify stock ELECTRIC fuel pump in tank and you say CARBURATOR. If its not EFI , something is not right. Check for a 20A fuel pump fuse, with a 12V test light. IGN ON The oil pressure switch is on the engine block engine type unknown ). It the engine loses oil pressure (i.e. stalls) the fuel pump will shut off. Hope this helps.

Blown fuse on fuel pump 1996 Ford explorer Replaced fuse drove vehicle home. Now it will not start.

A blown fuse is an indication of circuit overload. Did you replace the fuse with one of the same value or higher? is this the standard current rating for that circuit (usually marked on the fuse cover.

If the engine cranks remove a spark plug tape it to the intake manifold or somewhere where there is clean bare metal (please not near the battery) check for spark if ok reinstall plug if not replace the ECM fuse and relay with alternatives in the fuse box if this gets the pump going replace the ECM fuse and or relay then check for fuel turn on the ignition you should hear the pump run and then shutoff if not replace the pump fuse and relay with alternatives in the fuse box if this gets the pump going replace the pump fuse and or relay

Jaguar x-type fuel pump blowing F18 fuse

You could have a fuel pump wire that is shorting out or a fuel pump that is drawing too much current, not a easy fix. You need to follow the wiring for the fuel pump if that is good drop the gas tank and replace the pump.

Shorted out one of the fuel injector wires, and now my fuel pump isn't working, checked the fuses, none are blown, any ideas, other fuses or fuse link?thanks,

The fuel injectors receive their power from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Power Relay which is located in the Engine Compartment Fuse Box. This circuit is protected by Fuse "I" (20 Amp), also located in the Engine Compartment Fuse Box. If you blew a fuse, this would be the one.
The fuel pump, however, is a totally different circuit. (although it is controlled by the PCM which will not work if the fuse above is blown) The fuel pump gets its power from the fuel pump relay which is protected by Fuse "O" (20 Amp) in the Engine Compartment Relay Box.

I have a 1986 Corvette that blows the 10amp fuse for the fuel pump. How can I determine the cause?

If the fuse blows after turning the ignition key to the "on" position you might try disconnecting the electrical connector to the fuel pump and turning the key to the "on" position. If the fuse still blows there is a short in the wiring to the fuel pump. If the fuse does not blow it is more than likely the fuel pump.

I would check the fuses for a blown fuse and check the fuel pump relay. It sounds like you aren't getting power back to the fuel pump/sending unit.

Trying to locate fuel pump relay for 1991 corvette- coupe

The fuel pump relay in the 1991 corvette is located under the IP on the pass side.
Open pass door, unscrew two screws under the glovebox (you will be upside down in the car), take off the fuse panel, unscrew third screw to plastic plate underneath glovebox, pull away carpet (velcro), pull down plastic plate (watch out for the wiring to the lamp), then under the glovebox you will find a number of fuses and relays if you dive in under there DEEP, prob 4 or 5 in a row, not really sure wich one, but one in the middle is the fuel relay, and they are the same (interchangable).
Take a look at --the12volt.com/relays/relays.asp--
It´s those relays we are talking about.

My corvette doesnt want to start because theres no power going to the fuel pump fuse.

I am looking at alldata , the schematics for the fuel system. I see a fuse in the fuse block(10 amp) that comes from the fuel pump relay to the pump. I see a fuseable link (link H)that goes through a oil pressure sending unit. I would get a test light and test the oil pressure sending unit, the inline fuseable link and the relay. If still no power check the connection at the pump and then work backwards testing the harness.
