Question about 1996 Toyota Hilux
Is there a trick or tool to separate the sump from the engine on my 1996 Toyota Hilux ute as these models do not have a sump gasket but are put together using a silicone compound and I am worried that I might damage the pan mating surfaces while trying to separate them
A rubber mallet is the trick, there is no tool. Even a stick of wood in a pinch. A soft blow or two should break the seal.

I'd check with manufacturer of tow bar to be sure it bolts on the same etc. I'm sure they would give you that info, and if nothing else, call a place that sells them and ask for kit number for both vehicles & if they are the same number, well, just need to check that they bolt on exactly the same, that's why I would contact manufacturer for copy of install instructions for the new install.
