Will it start and or run with a shot of carb spray down the throttle body?

can you hear the fuel pump running?

have you checked to see if there is fuel pressure?

SOURCE: 1989 truck stalls when hot.

Have you chg. fuel filter? If so, best to do a fuel pressure test, sometimes( not always) when the pump gets warmed up they can loose a little pressure and thats all it takes just a few # under recamended p.s.i and the truck quits running, you may hear the pump run but its not putting out the correct pressure until it cools down and it starts working again, but after a while quit all together.

when you crank it, do you smell fuel? if you do, you're getting fuel so try replacing the distributer cap and even the plugs. if no gas smell, the fuel filter needs changing or the fuel pump is bad.

1996 dodge dakota, used bad fuel, won't start

Pump the tank dry of the fuel using the electric fuel pump, just jump the fuel pump relay to get the pump to run and remove the supply line to the injectors and attach a hose. Use extreme caution around gasoline, no sparks, ground the container to the truck.

Truck wont start

If you have no power, check battery may need to be jump started. If you have power, and car doesn't turn over. may need a starter or battery or new terminals. If car turns over just will not come start then you should test your fuel pump. DO this by spraying a little starting fluid or gas or carb cleaner down your throttle and have some one try to start the car... if it starts for a second or two and dies then u need a fuel pump which should be located in your gas tank at the sending unit.

My 1991 grand marquis wont crank, it was running great on friday then sat morning it just spending i smell gas when im trying to crank it. i was thinking it as jump time

It may have jumped time. However, if you smell gasoline, it got flooded. Here is the lay of the land.
If it cranks, as in turning over but not starting. And you smell gasoline. The fuel is good, but there is not electrical spark going to the plugs. Bad coil. Cracked distributor cap. Moisture under the cap. Check this before you worry about the timing. You first have to test for ignition. Also don't pump the gas when starting it. See what happens. Also when the car is warm, never pump the gas. Also check the wire going from the distributor cap to the coil.
Good luck,
Hope this helps,
Best,
Mark

I started it up one day I went in to let it warm up came back out and it had died on me.Now it turns over but won't start seems like it might not be getting gas wwhat do you think?

first of all when you crank the truck have someone to smell under the hood to see if you smell gas if you don't smell gas then check the fuel pump relay before you do this get a can of starter fluid and spray it in the throttle body and if it starts then the relay is good then the fuel pump is bad
