How do i get time rest off my dash back to where it suppose to be

From your description, the car took a voltage spike. Some electrical components are very sensitive to this. Low battery voltage would cause this as well. Ensure that your charging system is working correctly by checking the output of the alternator with a multi-meter. Charging voltage should be around 13.5V with the car running. Verify that your battery is good as well. If all is found to be in good working order, disconnect the negative terminal of your battery and let the cars electrical system discharge completely by leaving disconnected for about 15-20 minutes with a door open. Connect your battery terminal ensuring that you do not arc it to the positive terminal. If this does not correct the instrument cluster, you may have a defective electrical component that requires further investigation. Hope it helps!

It just quit, no electrical power to start, to turn on interior lights, door locks, horn. I believe the battery is good, but iI am puzzled.

Disconnect negative terminal, wait one minute then reconnect. What year, make and model car. Some cars have a quick battery disconnect off the positive cable. One of my cars had corrosion on the quick disconnect. Trace the red wire that does not go to the starter.

Make sure battery has 12volts and leave it connected, terminals clean, hook jumper vehicle, your car + to + and neg to good engine block or chassis ground. Now see if u have power, if car starts disconnect cables and read voltage dc at battery should read around 14 volts if not, your alternator is at fault.

2002 Ford F150 Supercrew - Electrical problem! Help!

dk mak r

As a retired electrical engineer this intrigues me. If you were my neighbor I would put an ammeter in series with the batteery lead to see just how much current is being drawn by the "mystery" load.

When you disconnect or hook up the battery can you see any sparks when the cable touches the battery terminal?

If the battery can get run down over night that is a significant drain.

If there is some sign of spark when you connect/disconnect the battery lead try the following.
Selectively remove a fuse in the fuse panel, (starting with the larger fuses, 15A, 20A) and then connect the battery terminal and see if you still have a spark.

Hope this helps Good luck Loringh
