I turn ignition car makes a sound but want start what is wrong?

Not quite enough info here. Does the starter sound normal? Is it turning the engine over but the engine will not start. Please explain what "makes a sound means". I want to help.

Hear a clunk sound when trying to start

A clunk noise could be a couple of things. Your starter may be starting to go bad. If the flywheel or starter has broken a tooth on the gear, it will clunk. A loose starter, check the bolts. Good luck

1993 Landcruiser Toyota VX Ltd loud clunk when trying to start

I would pull out the starter and see what I could find, either the starter or the fly wheel. If you remove the starter you can look at the fly wheel and the starter. Good luck

Car won't start and starter is only making clunking noise

You can take out the spark plugs, keep track of your spark plug wire order, try to crank it over see if the engine turns over.

Check voltage on your new battery, some need to charge when new.

check for corrosion on the battery and starter cables.

When I turn the ignition to start vehicle it makes a clunk sound and the motor doesnt turn over. Not sure if it could be the starter or alternator.

Sounds like the solenoid is bad...it is located on the starter itself...you may be able to replace just the solenoid...if my memory suits me fine the starters for Dodge aren't cheap as a whole but the solenoid may be a bit cheaper

I have an intermittent. my car does not start time to time. by pushing it the car start. it work fine for several day, and does it again . need help.

When it doesnt start, does it make a at least a clicking noise? Maybe a clunk? A loud clunk but the starter wont engage means the starter solenoids contact is bad. A click would indicate either a loose connection to the starter solenoid or a bad contact on the relay. No sound at all is a bit more complicated to trouble shoot.

95 lumia sedan starting problem

You could have a bad starter or a short to the wire at the starter. Most likly it's the starter. Once in a while a light tap to the starter would make it work a few more times. Good luck and hope this helps

Clunk-clunk? Sounds like the flywheel broke. Maybe (if it's an automatic) the torque convertor came unbolted from the flywheel. I hope that I could help you. Best wishes.
