On the crankshaft the is a "dot" on the timing gear(behind the crank pulley), it has to line up with an arrow on the oil pump housing(the arrow will be toward the back of the car. Then for the camshaft, it has 3 little "dash" marks on the pulley, two have to be lined up with the cylinder head, and the third will be pointing up!
