Vr Calais alarm is going off for no reason at least 5times a day:(help

buy a falcon... just kidding mate. it is probably and after market alarm yes???? hard to diagnose without knowing the brand, model and features or your alarm but long story short it is well worth the cost to get a professional to install a new one. the issues you are experiencing could be due to a rookie installing an alarm, a faulty sensor, bad earth, over sensitive shock/tilt sensor, shoddy constant....the list goes on. an alarm is worth doing it right.

Aftermarket alarm

no year car, wow !
find a Autoelectric repair shop that dont mind fixing, hacked up cars.
most don't want to do this, so ask. (but will if you seem to have thick wallet)

what we do , is we remove it. and return the car to stock.
if hell bent on aftermarket parts, find a same shop that will install one
and keep a short path to that shop , as most other shops will just
have no clue as to why your car wont start. (hint, it's not stock)

Dont get me wrong, i could fix your car. but it cost you 10 hours labor
to reverse engineer all those hacks, then fix it. (if possible)
some times the hacks are from companies, no longer in business.
nor parts sold. anywhere. ( don't hack cars. do not hack daily driver cars)

If real lucky , you might find a shop that recognizes this hack.
or you read the hack box for name , pn, and the get full documentation
on Aftermarket alarm, box then work hard ot get it working right
in fact after reading the manual only your alarm, you might not even
like it.

id return it to stock, and put in a fuel pump cut out switch
hidden, very well. parts cost $1

here is one other trick i do with alarms (aftermarket )
i use a REGRESSION plug.
i install a large elecrical plug with 2 female and 1males
MALE conn. wires to alarm box.
1st female goes to car harness
2nd female, i wire up jumpers, to REGRESS the car back to stock
i keep it, in the glove box. or better hidden in a secret place in car
so that if the ALARM goes nuts, i have my magic plug.
done many that way. no long walks home.........

2004 Chevy Malibu-issue with doors locking and unlocking by themselves. Reset battery and doors are working now except for door locks on passenger side you cannot manually unlock doors? New issue is...

Hi Shannon,

My guess is that something is shorting in the lock control circuit. Sounds to me that your passenger locks are constantly energized in the lock position, causing the battery drain.
This is likely not involving the computer. A good electrical guy can find it pretty quick. Meanwhile, envision that you have little electromagnets energized and hot. These would drain the battery fast. Disconnect negative when not using the car.
Consider unplugging the lock slaves inside the doors until you get a chance to get in at a shop. By slave I mean the actuator that is energized, inside each door.

Toyota 4runner 2006 is locking automatically then beeping/head&tail lights flashing every 60 seconds. Won't stop. How do I fix this?

That happened to my wife when I bought her a car (with a factory installed alarm sys) that didn't come with the remote... Any local car alarm installer can reprogram another one for you (which is what we wound up having to do cost us $50) sometimes theres a lil tiny toggle switch under the dash somewhere on after market alarm systems

Won't start acouple of times

I have a 2000 LS and had the same problem. I finally took it to the dealership. They said it was because of an aftermarket car alarm I had put on the car. The alarm signals were interfering with some electrical switches in the car. They removed the alarm system (keyless entry included) and I have not had the problem since. Further, the dealership cannot add an alarm or keyless entry on a vehicle unless it manufactured that way. I was told I did not have to remove the alarm system, the signals would eventually get right and the car would start...but it would continue to be a problem. Oh yeah the removal cost about $200 (the same cost to install the alarm). Hope this helps.

Alarm system

I first bought a 1990 volvo turbo 760. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS VEHICLE! it was rear wheel drive and VERY easy to work on. it was a BLAST to drive and blow 5.0 mustangs off the road with a 4 cyllinder. I loved driving that car so much I bought a 1998 S70 Volvo (kept the 760 model). turns out I paid ALOT MORE for just another toyota camary with a Volvo nameplate. I didnt keep it long. it just wasnt the same. the interior started falling apart from day one.
I know the dissapointment... if it were me I would not spend any money on the alarm system. but if I did I would get the aftermarket version installed.
PLEASE dont let the timing belt break on this car!!!!! it wont be the same as your old one! it will be $4000 damage to the engine if it breaks. change it out early!

Alarm mr2 mk2 1991 model

Take it to an Audio Installer. A door trigger will be part of the alarm wiring and therefor not part of the factory harness. They will be able to sort out the issue and I am sure it will not cost more than $40 to fix.

Lexus alarm keeps going off unless you disconnect battery model g300 1996

I would say you have two options, You can take it to the dealer and have it disconnected, or you can go to an aftermarket car stereo/alarm store they will install an aftermarket alarm and disable your stock one at the same time, for probably about as much as the dealer would charge to just disable it. First just call the dealer to get a quote on how much that would cost, and then call the alarm place and get a quote.
