I got a manual geared vw city golf 1.4i. It drives like an outomatic when pressing the accelerater and the ref counter quickly goes up. what could be the problem

1) i recommend to reset the ignition timing according to the specification manufacture. it doesnot matter if your car has BCM, you must discoonect and execute, otherwise the BCm, will run accoring to the bad specification, The BCM is THE CPU, and record all information.
2) of course test any mechanical blockage for lack lubrication or stuck for damage, bend.
3) Run the scanner tool, some sensor can be defective, or need adjust , or has corrosion.

God bless you

MANU button on RAV4

The PWR button (power) is like a sports mode. It keeps in lower gears for longer so you can gain more speed. Handy for overtaking or fast lane changing. Not wise to use this all the time due to poor fuel economy.

The MANU button (manual) allows you to operate the gears manually. With MANU on and gear lever in L, it will drive in 1st. Gear lever in 2, it will drive in 2nd. Gear lever in D, it will drive in 3rd. If Overdrive is enabled then D will give you 4th gear instead.
