Question about Cars & Trucks

Check you Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve (EGR) its probably full of carbon and has stuck open allowing too much exhaust gases into the intake manifold starving the engine of oxygen and killing it but when you add gas it stays running because of physics and it is adding more fuel and sucking more clean air. If the EGR is dirty clean it with some carb cleaner if that don't work replace it. also check your Idle Air Control valve (IAC) these also tend to get dirty but not like the EGR valve. if it is clean I would still replace due to the fact that it is an small electric motor that is working all the time.
