I slammed my car door with the window rolled down, now I can't get the power window to roll back up. I think it's off its gear or something like that

I just changed my front passenger power window motor and cable(the cable broke into). If it makes a sound then the motor is probably good, most likely the cable has snapped.I own a 2000 Chevy Impala LS. There is a good video on you tube that shows how to do it.

2002 Impala driver's window stuck down, seems like bad regulator as all other windows still work. Would like to know how to manually get window up so I have some security until I have time to take it...

If it's electric it could be the motor too,, remove the inside door panel, to get access to the inside of the door,, once in,, look for the 2 wires that hook up to the window motor, unplug the connector, and supply the motor with 12volts DC from an outside source, Like jumper cables with jumper wires with alligator clips, if it works its the regulator, or possibly the window relay for that door, if its a manual window, ( hand crank, your going to have to replace the regulator to get the window up, you could unhook the window from this, But keeping the window up could be a problem

Having a problem with the power window drivers side Took the door panel off All the cables and pulleys are disconnected Never seen a power window system like this before Need to look at a blow up drawing...

Theres no need for that blueprint trust me, the window regulator is no good, what happens is a cable pops or a plastic wheel for cable breaks and they cant be repaired, the regulator comes complete you ust install, heres a picture of it.johnjohn2_61.jpg

2003 Impala air conditioner blower has been coming on and off. Has been gradually getting worse.

Try unhooking one of the battery cables and leave it off for at least 20 minutes. When you hook it back up the computers should re-boot. That has solved problems for me with heater, interior lites, power windows, AC, day time running lites, power mirrors, fast idle, rough or slow shifting, CD player, and wipers on GM autos and S-10 PU and Dodge trucks. None of the switches are connected to the device they control anymore. The switch tells the computer to open the window and the computer send a signal to the window motor. When the computer gets confused strange things will happen or not happen. Of course you may have to re-set your radio stations. I actually had to do it twice on my Bonneville because the first time the blower would only work in low and medium. After the second re-boot, everything was fine.

Key in ignition will not come out windows will not go up or down doors will not lock or unlock i took i took cable of battery to clean whrn this happen

Is it in park? That might explain the key. But for the locks and windows it sounds like the battery cable end may be bad.

The battery is under the hood, just behind the passenger headlight.
There is a black bar that crosses over the battery and goes back towards strut tower. Remove this bar and the three bolts; probably a 12 or 13mm socket.
Remove the negative (black) battery cable with an 8mm socket or wrench. A 5/16" should work also.
Then remove the positive (red) cable with same socket.
Remove the battery clamp and bolt. Probably a 12mm socket with extension.
It's tight, but the battery can be removed.
Reverse instructions for installing the battery. (That includes hooking up the red battery cable first, then the black cable.)

Drivers window fell down 2003 Impala

Most all window motors and regulators are pop-riveted to the door. This requires special tools to reinstall the pop rivets and assembly.

Interior trim panel removal instruction

Normal 0 . Disconnect your negative battery cable. Locate and remove the screws that hold your interior door handles in place (they may be hidden by snap in, or snap on clips). Remove the interior door handles, then disconnect the wire clips to the switches. Your panel is held in place by snap in clips; use a small pry bar to pull them from the door (try to get as close to, or directly under the clips to prevent them from tearing out of the door panel). Once the clips are pulled, pull the panel upward to remove it from the door.
Install in reverse.

If you don't have power windows you will have to remove the manual window crank. It is held in place by a clip on the back side of the base. To remove the clip, you will need a small hook (kind of like a knitting needle). Put the hook in behind the base, and grab the clip and pull it off. To replace it, slide the clip back on the window crank, and snap it back on the door.
