Question about 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme
When you start the car sometimes the climate control lights up and you can change the settings, somtimes you can't change anything and sometimes it remains blank but blows out hot air on at least medium to high fan speed. I have looked thru the allData sys and found a few things to test It seems I have power where I should no matter which way it is acting. yesterday it didn't ahve any codes stored in it. today it was throwing allmost every code(except the Serial Data code. and said it was 17*F out when it was near 80. THe thing just thinks on it's own. I think I need a new assembly where you push the buttons but alldata mentions a user interface thing under the dash that I cannot locate. Also the steering wheel buttong do nt work the stereo one did a few months back but now none of them do for either the stereo or the climate control.
The climate control head units go out in these cars with age. The steering wheel controls are probably losing conection. You can replace the turnsignal switch or gently bent the little copper prongs back up.
