Common problem, will cost you about $8 and some time to fix yourself. Unhook the battery, remove the throttle body and clean it with sensor safe spray like Seafoam. When finished, hook battery back after clean throttle body is installed up and with all HVAC on off, driver around for a while so the computer relearns the newly cleaned tb.

SOURCE: which fuze do i replace on a 2005 isuzu ascender

i assume that you have a trailer light attachment installed at the rear of the vehicle somewhere around the tow hitch, turn on your head lights, obtain a volt meter and check D.C. voltage on the pigtail, ground the black lead to clean frame metal and check the pins on the plug with the red lead, one of them should be live 12v dc.that will be your trailer running lights, theother will be brake lights, you will have to have someone hold trheir foot on the brake to test it,dont assume the trailer is ok. verify voltage at the connector on the vehicle first,if you have 12 v,there the trailer has the problem,or if it hasnt been used in a long time the connector may need to be cleaned,as far as the fuse goes depending how it was installed, could be several choices, set your meter on continuity and check all fuses, you dont have to phisically remove each one,if you look close there are two small contact points on both sides of the amp rating number, most likely you will have two or three fuse panel locations, primary is under dash drivers side ,secondary panels and relays located in engine compartment under hood on fender walls black plastic box w/cover,,also may be on the sides of the dash board, can only see when the door is open ,or behind the ashtray in the center console, replace any fuses that are blown,be aware of the plug configuration on the car to the trailer, and that the ground wire on the car side of the plug is also the ground lead on the trailer connector, wires may have got mixed up during repair, happens to the best of us once in a while, clean ground connections are very important on trailers, old rusty wires and scerws should be removed wire brushed and reinstalled,or replaced if needed, then sealed with varnaloc,or spray paint,to protect them, hope this helps you.aloha from maui todd0708

SOURCE: 2005 isuzu ascender my low beams headlights do not

First thing you need to check is the fuse, which should be under the hood. And then the bulbs. No... they didn't both burn out at the same time. They burnt out one at a time. You just don't notice iuntil the second one goes.

How do I do a throttle body replacement relearn on a 04 isuzu ascender

The relearn is done by unhooking the battery for 30-60 minutes. With all HVAC OFF, hook the battery back up and drive your Ascender around for about 40 min or so, at this time, it will relearn. To test it, stop the vehicle put it in park and turn your AC on, if your car doesn't show signs of boggin down or trying to die on you, your relearn was done correctly. This is all assuming that your throttle body is CLEAN!!! If it's not clean, your idle will be bad and engine will try and die on you at idle when your AC or Defroster are on. Relearn should of already been done---> you always disconnect the battery when cleaning the throttle body, as to not to damage the stepper motor that moves the butterfly. To properly clean the throttle body and for best results, always remove the entire throttle body and clean BOTH sides with a sensor safe spray like Seafoam and a rag or nylon brush, you can reuse the hard plastic gasket. Hope this helps!

I have a 2002 GMC Envoy, the idle goes up/down & wants to die out when using the defrost/fan during the start up/idle. Is it a vacuum line somewhere?

Common problem after the battery is unhooked or replaced. You'll get the same results if you turn the AC on also...Unhook the battery, clean your throttle body, with throttle body cleaner (Seafoam works good) with only a rag or plastic bristled brush, no metal as it will scratch it. I prefer to remove the throttle body (4 bolts) to clean both sides, you CAN reuse the hard plastic gasket. When finished, hook the battery back up and drive around for 15 min or so (with no defrost or AC on,everything off), for the computer to relearn the newly cleaned TB. Your problem will be solved for about $8 if you do it yourself.

Stalling when ac turned on

You probably unhooked the battery recently if this just started. Classic dirty throttle body syndrome. Unhook the battery, yank the throttle body off (only 4 bolts) and clean with a product like a sensor safe Seafoam and a rag, do not use wire brush or something abrasive, will damage the aluminum. Can re-use the hard plastic O-ring many times over. Hook the battery back up and drive around for 15 minutes or so. This is THE most popular problem with Envoys and Trailblazers. After the original battery was unhooked, the computer thought the throttle body was clean, which it is not, so you will have idle problems when the A/C or Defrost is on. Before you unhook the battery for cleaning, make sure you turn OFF all HVAC including AC or Defrost, or you the vent actuators can go bad on you.

2005 subaru legacy,i unhooked the battery and when i hooked it back up now when you start it up it has a real rough idle to the point of almost dying

the electronic throttle needs to be taught its end stop positions again. what you can try is to disconnect the battery once again and reconnect after 30 sec. then turn on the ignition but do not start. wait appr. 30 seconds then turn off ignition. start the car as normal and it should be programmed.

Engine stalls only when heater is turned on. What causes this?

Lets clarify this. Does it die when you turn the defroster on and or A/C? Did you recently unhook the battery or you put in a new battery? Likely this is the problem.. Clean your throttle body with some carb cleaner (while your battery is disconnected). When finished, hook your battery back up and drive for about 5 miles or so to re-set the computer. You won't have that problem anymore. Must keep the throttle bodies clean in Envoys and Trailblazers.
