I would check if the fuel is getting to your carby by replacing the fuel filter.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Why did engine running, won't restart.

lots and lots of reasons, guessing. over 50 (bad engine?)
but does it crank?, no car starts unless it's cranked or
like my car, push started or gravity started (a 6sp m/t)
if engine fails to start , and cranks robustly (fast starter motor)
then
1: never tuned up, running 10 year old spark parts.
2: blow fuse. check fuses.
3:; lost spark, check spark.
4: flooding or loss of fueling. to unflood any engine, crank at wideopen throttle (oper, guide tells you that)
5: timing belt not changed at 60,000 miles it will fail, and will not start
or start have like 1/4 power.
6: lost compression in or more cylinders.?

or
get it serviced? if all that is too much work? or confusing.

My 97 bmw28is wont start everyting was working fine.batterry is full ibut cae r wont start

wont crank?
or cranks robustly (the crankshaft spins fast) but wont start.
all cars that dont start one, all ran when new. etc.
what counts is the now. only.
you need to do the tests. all covered in the FSM or at alldata.com
i cant help you because you . cuz did not say crank or start? so......

1: test all fuses. (not just gandering, use a meter)
2: check battery voltage 12.6vdc rested.
3: if not cranking, wiggle the shilter (a/t) or clutch if m/T
if a/t? try cranking in Neutral. cranks now? bingo.
4: cranks ok, and fast so check spark/

ill end there, due to vast number of tests and no clear stated
symptoms.
ever give it a full tuneup (60,000 mile service schedule?) or this DECADE. if not why ask the spark plug question.

Cold start

TUNE UP TIME. I-6 engine?
old spark parts JUST HATE water.
100 years, of this and same.
do the 60,000 mile tune up, called the service schedule. lost it?
we have it
cap ,rotor, wires, spark plugs, filters,. fuel and air.
i bet it runs now. (for sure, it has great chances)
id also check engine compression. for 150psi x 6 w.o.t.
mine, loved to crank the Exhaust manifold , and cause the
O2 sensor to go nuts. (but is not related to cold starts)
the cause was a broken exh, clamp, below the bell housing,
making the exh. pipe to wag like dogs tail, bending header and cracking it(mine had nice SST header stock)
that was the only bug in my jeep. I6
other than the monthly ISC sticking and cleaning (IDLE out of control)
i cured it. (ask)

1995 geo prizm with no spark

no spark at all 4 spark plugs or 1. (using fresh test spark plug?)
is the distributor rotor turning , cranking.?
was the cam belt changed at 60,000 miles, as you must?

Excessive cranking before it starts sometimes

Check fuel pressure at the rail

Surely, you have changed spark plugs at 60,000 miles
Air Filter and Gas Filter every 3 years
Cleaned Throttle Plate and MAF Sensor

Everyone does that, when changing their trans
and power steering fluids, at 30,000 miles intervals

My truck did this after I replaced the fuel pump. Turned out to Fuel Pressure Regulator. It would crank and crank but never start. It's located underneath the black plastic manifold on the side of the injectors.

I had my crank sensor replaced at 59,000 miles and now I have to have it done again at 73,000 told the warranty was 60,000 miles, so should I not have another 60,000 warranty on it

Nope, components replaced under warranty does not change/extend the warranty period -- still the same warranty period. What happened to the sensor?... Damaged by the timing/ balanace belt? Has it been over a year ago since the sensor was replaced? If so, then there is no warranty coverage for this repair.
