Hook up a Battery Charger, leave the ignition on, not running for overnight with the Radio display reading OFF. In the Morning it should read Enter Code and you will be able to enter the code.

My radio /cd player won't allow me to put the code in

If the wrong code has been entered too many times the radio is likely to be permanently blocked.

Each time a code is entered wrongly or the wrong code is used there will be a waiting time before the code can be tried again and each time that waiting time will be longer; up to several hours.

It is important to enter the code and activate the radio precisely so check the procedure in the manual before starting then if the code won't go in assume you have the wrong code.
The correct code can be purchased from the dealer or various internet sites offer "find your code" services. Alternatively it is possible to have the radio re-coded or decoded. Bear in mind the radio could be permanently blocked and effectively useless..

How can I do make my radio play? it displays a notice "LOCKED"

You have not given us enough information on make, model, etc. to help you. Basically, the battery has been disconnected, and the security has been activated for your radio. It requires the code, usually found written in the owners manual (along with instructions on how to enter) or sometimes on the back of the radio if has been replaced before (you will have to pull it to check). You can always call/visit the manufacturer/dealership, and after giving proof of ownership, they will give you the code and explain how to enter it. DO NOT enter codes at random! This will prolong your suffering when you get the correct code or could possibly lock the radio indefinitely!

Good Luck!

Honda civic gli radio replacement won't work

Dannielle, if the previous owner installed the radio, it must have worked. It is possible that error code may have no connection with the replaced radio which may work when connected to battery. It depends on the complexity of the new radio. If it is simple, s/b ok.

My 1993 300e radio just flashes WAIT. I replaced the battery and put in the code but thats all that happened. ive been waiting for 3 days now.

If the radio is not happy with the code you are entering there is a possiblity it has locked you out - Leaving the ignition on with WAIT on the screen (1 minute for 1st incorrect enter, 2min for 2nd, 4min for 3rd, 8min for 4th etc) until such time that the radio displays CODE or until leaving the ignition on doesn't remove WAIT from the screen. (possible new radio required at that point)

the start points for entering the radio code are either when the radio says code or displays an error 1, 2 or such. once you enter the code it should beep once and turn on. It sounds like you are following the procedure though. Is it possible the audio unit was damaged?

Saab 900 radio code

If your radio beeps and will not turn on, such as after battery power has been disconnected, then you must enter a security code to restore its function. The car should have come with a "special card" listing the radio's code and instructions on how to restore operation, but it is common for people to buy used Saabs without getting the radio code. If you can't find the card, start with the simple stuff. Look through the owners manuals and see if it has been written in. Try any 4 or 6 digit codes that you see. To enter a code, you must turn the radio on so it beeps and hold down the DNR button (-94 models) while entering the 6 digit code. For '88- 9000 radios, turn on the radio, press the band button, and then type in the 4 digit code. The procedure for other radios may be slightly different. If you don't find the code in the owner's manuals, remove the radio from the dash using the two little prongs. With the radio out, check the outside of it for possible codes, and try any you find - you might get lucky. Write down the serial number and your car's VIN number. Call up a local Saab dealer and tell them that you need your security code. They will run a check to make sure your car or radio hasn't been stolen. If everything is OK, they will contact you with the code.Here the links of there site;

If the wrong code was entered, press and hold the "band" button until the word "code" appears then enter the correct code. (this is for the classic 900 clarion radio).
If you can remove the radio from the dash . Pop the radio out and the correct code will sometimes be written on the top or in the back of the radio.
