SOURCE: engine heats as normal both heater hoses hot at

I have a 70 mustang that did that. My problem was the core was clogge and the water couldnt circulate through properly. I took both hoses loose and sprayed the garden hose through each one to clean out the system. took about 10 minutes but my heater started blowing hotter air. you can use a spray gun on the end of the water hose when you point it in the heater hose. dont use a high pressure hose, just a garen hose with a sprayer on it.

Need diagram for heater core replacement

Are you sure it needs to be replaced and not reversed flushed?

To reverse flush the heater core there are 2 hoses next to each other that go from the engine through the firewall disconnect them and with a garden hose run water through the nipples they where hooked up to.

Most heater cores don't need to be replaced unless you see water/anti-freeze on the passenger side floor mat.

Diagram for heater core replacement on 1986 elcamino

Best to get a repair manual. You will need to remove part or all of the dash, since the heater core is inside the car on the firewall. An Autoparts store would have a repair manual for your car. In The Meantime: 1. Disconnect the heater hoses, at the firewall in the engine compartment. 2. Connect the two hoses together using a piece of tubing and a couple of hose clamps. (This will bypass the heater core, until you can get it fixed.)

No heat. blower ok. engine temp normal. Can not locate the heater hoses to check if both are hot. How do I get access to the hoses? Is there a diagram?

Without more specs re: engine size etc, I'd have to say look close at firewall between engine and cab for hoses /tubing going into passenger compartment through firewall.

It should be obvious. They are the only 2 heater hoses connected to the firewall.

Cooling system diagram 3.5 l v6 jackaroo

Sounds like those are the heater core hoses. some cars have the A/C hooked to those hoses also. Trace the hoses and see where they they go on the engine. You might be able to take one hose and bypass the heater core by taking off one hose off the firewall and putting it where the opposite one goes on the moter. If not you can take them off the firewall and get a metal pipe and join them together. Hope this helps.

Need to locate heater core need diagram

There are 2 rubber hoses that get hot when the engine is running. They come from the engine and connect to the heater core at the firewall The hose is about 3/4 inch in diameter and is hot to the touch after the engine is up to operating temperature.

I own a 2004 Buick Rendezvous, its a 3.4 liter engine and it's leaking coolant from an elbow on the engine firewall, on the passenger side. It only happens when the heater or the a/c is on. Would you...

That elbow goes to the heater core. Just go to a auto parts store, and ask them for a new elbow, remove and replace and everything will be just fine. The heater core controls the heat and cooling for the cabin of the vehicle.

Is there any fluid leaking onto the floor of the passenger side of the vehicle?

Heater gets just a little warm

follow the two rubber hoses from the firewall to where they connect to the motor. disconnect them and flush through both of them. whichever one you start with first dont point the empty hose at you becuz the water will be coming out of it.

follow the large hose from the top of the radiator to where it claps to the engine. unclamp it, remove the nipple it was clamped to and there will be the thermostat
