Left the key in my landrover overnight. When I went to start it the next morning the battery was dead. Charged up the battery and it still won't start. Checked the started and it is fine plus there is power to the starter.

SOURCE: Landrover discovery wont start but battery is good

This usually is the starter, especially if your truck has had an oil leak going for a while as the oil will run down into the starter and cause it to intermittenly fail. Also check your battery terminals and make sure you have a good connectivity.

SOURCE: Battery keeps going dead.

obviously there is an abnormal drain on the vehicles electrical system. Examples of this are a glove box or conso;e light staying even though you closed it, is there a reading or compartment light on ? Anybody that just says "you need a battery without ALSO testing the electrical system for integrity is not helping,

SOURCE: landrover discovery 2 es td5 battery drain, has

take off a battery terminal, and put a test light across the gap you just created, between the cable and battery post.
It should not light.
It it does, then something is on all the time.
Disconnect things, pull fuses, etc., until the light goes out.
Then you will know what it is.
Alternator is one of possibilities.
Could be trunk or engine light.

SOURCE: 2002 Freelander will not start.

Sounds like on your first attempt to jump start the car the positive and negative cables were reversed blowing your main fuse. Your interior lights are usually controlled by a switch next to your speedometer or the dashboard. If the switch does not bring the lights/gauges back then it is possible that something else shorted and the vehicle would need to be taken in for service.

2003 Aurora, left key on and battery went dead. Recharged battery. Won't start. Turn key to on, security light out and check engine light on. Move key to start and nothing, back to on, one minut

Very interesting site here.. regarding your problem. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
Another thought.. even though you charged the battery, it's not at all uncommon for a car battery to be very damaged by fully discharging. Especially if not new-ish. One or more cells in it may be bad causing the overall voltage to be under normal. This alone can cause the problem you have. I would try jumping it with another car or test the battery to see if it's got at least 12.7 to 12.9 volts when sitting doing nothing. Good luck.

Well contact your dealer and tell them that your battery is gone bad for no reason and don't mention you let the light overnight because your battery is under warranty and they will put in a new one. Good luck

have you not left any load on overnight?..like park light or left the door partially open and the dome light would be left on?

have the battery recharge and the next night, make sure that no light would be left on the car.

if it would drain out again, have it recharged again, use it and on the night, make sure no light is left on the car, then remove the positive pole on the battery overnight.

the next morning, put the positive cable back and start the car.

if the car would start, then no problem with the battery, if the car would not start, then return the battery because it is defective.

tnx 4 using fixya,
