I found the TPS, put a new one on it, reset, light is back on, and still telling me TPS. Does anyone have a stick of dynamite?

Have you checked to make sure you do not need a new gas cap.

No, I haven't since it keeps telling me it's the TPS. I thought it would be an evap code of some sort if it were the gas cap but, I'll give it a shot.

Still no dice. Might be a computer problem. I give up.

Check engine light on with the TPS code. replaced TPS and pig tail and it checked out OK with volt meter. The light still comes back on with the TPS code

Check engine light comes on and off, these are indication that there is some error code stored in your vehicles ECM. The engine module computer needs to be scanned. These will give the code and as per the error code the further problem can be detected and confirmed. The engine light indicator blinks or remains steady on dash when engine computer noticed any problem with any engine electrically operated components.

For more help, I suggest you to refer the help links provided below. These will let you know more about which areas to look, check, when there is engine light coming up on dash panel.

I have a code 21 that tells me cooling temperture system

A code 21 is a TPS circuit(signal voltage high). Check for sticking or misadjusted TPS. Check all wiring and connections an the TPS and the ECM. If all is good replace the TPS. I dont know how you found that the code is for the cooling system but it is not right.

I have a 2002 kia that the engine light came on. I

All I could find on the net as to why it may still come on is 1.It needs a slight adjustment 2.The electrical connector needs to be put on.Since you most likely put on the connector,it may just need slight adjustment.Isn't technology wonderful these days? What would Henry Ford think?lol. Here is what I found but no help really.
Well I googled adjust tps sensor on 2002 Kia and got nowhere. If you call a dealer, they would probably tell you how to adjust for free.If they don't,call other shops.SOMEONE is always willing to give you free advice because they want you to come back.Good luck!

Have a 1999 Toyota Tacoma with a 3.4. Vehiclw was brought in 4 pinging under acceleration. Check engine light was on with a TPS code. Upon diag we found the plugs very worn. 140K on vehicle so we did a...

Most likely I a would suspect the fuel rail had moisture in it. If you checked emissions it would most likely show no HC and alot of 02 and no CO. If it does show alot of HC then I would suspect sticking valves intermittantly . The pinging really points to no fuel issue tho. If you pull the injector connector off and no change then I would remove the fuel rail and inspect. Also make sure the wires are in the correct locations. It easy to get them wrong.

Throttle position sensor

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere on the engine. If the tps was bad, it would set a code and the check engine light would be on. Also, check your air tube that goes to your throttle body - make sure the hoses are connected tight and the tps is on the throttle body down on the front of your engine where the hose runs down to it. It's not really that hard to get the throttle body off. That would be the best way to change the tps - to take the whole throttle body off and put new gaskets on and tps on it. Hope this helps you out. PHil
