So a few days ago I went to my 2002 VW beetle turdo to turn the car on. I put the key in the switch and it suddenly turned off. Like the power went out. The radio, time, and other lights wouldnt work. Interestingly enough, when I started to play with the keys pressing the unlock and lock keys it suddenly turned on! MY check engine light came on a month before this happened. also the same problem happened again, and once i pressed the remote keys the power cam back on! my check engine light is still on but i cant figure out what the problem is. I went to have the battery and alternator checked, but the battery cam back fine and the alternator was okay(but a little weak; 13.1V) Howvever I was told that the alternator shoudlnt be causing problems like this... its probably electrical. Any ideas?

You need to charge your battery up more. Either get a battery charger or leave the jumper cables hooked up for a longer period of time.
Your battery was probably completely dead. You might even need a new battery...they really don't like to be completely drained.

Try taking the battery out of your remote to see if it just still sending the signal????? You might have to clean your remote with contact cleaner. Also check the latch to make sure nothing is in the way of the latch????

get a new coolant temperature sensor.
the orginal black ones are faulty.
make sure it is the green topped one.
also do a normal tune up with spark plugs, clean the maf, maybe replace coils packs.
