How long ago was that? Was it long enough for rust to form inside the engine, and get into every electrical connection, every circuit on the car that didn't have a waterproof connection? Insurance companies have a name for flood damaged vehicles: "total loss". Even if you get it running again, you would never get rid of all the electrical gremlins-it would drive you crazy.
Some many years ago (1971), I was a young kid just out of the air force with a 1963 chevy pick-up, out on a lark, just seeing New Orleans and the gulf coast for the first time, trying to hook up with an old flame living in Biloxi, MS at the time, which never happened. Along came a hurricane named Camille, came ashore not far from Biloxi around 2 or 3 in the morning. I had found a shelter at a sea side hotel the afternoon before. Thought it would be a "Great Adventure" to see first hand a hurricane. I was like raw, you know? Driving along the gulf highway, storm clouds were forming, I see this big hotel with a large parking lot full of cars. The sea shore was just on my left off the highway, the parking lot was just to my right, with the hotel just behind the lot. I thought, these people must know what they are doing, seeking shelter in the hotel lobby for the storm. So I pulled my truck in there, and went inside to ride out the storm. When it got dark, the storm surge came in and covered the parking lot with about 4 or 5 feet of water. Next morning, when the surge subsided, I could only see the top half of my cab-the debris and lumber and stinky trash with the surge had filled up the parking lot. Had I pulled around to the other side of the hotel, on higher ground, no problem.
I dug my truck out, took me two days, young and innocent I didn't know squat about cars and mechanics, the whole truck was massively dented and scarred, rolled it backwards, and Aha! it started, sounded real odd and rough, but it was running. So I took it for a test drive. Went about 2 or 3 miles before the engine conked out, and that was the end of it. A hotel supervisor who organized a clean up detail for a basement bar there that was totally destroyed had seen me working out in the lot and offered me a job with their crew. I spent about a week there with them-just slept in the lobby for the first few nights afterward-the whole coast area around was pretty devastated and disorganized-but then the people at the hotel began giving me sidelong looks-I got the drift-I had overstayed my welcome, so I went uptown to a red cross shelter. About a week later, my dad and brother came down from Arkansas to rescue me. I showed them the truck, told them it was hopeless, lets just go. But they bought a towbar and we towed the truck back home. It never ran again. It didn't have not one single piece or part on it that could be taken off and even given away.

No sparks

Have seen a few flood damaged cars. people buy them cheap and think they can bring them in swap in a new battery and sell for $$. Not saying this is ur case, but yeah, Sometimes water and condensation just gets places it was never supposed to. Water damage issues are totally case by case. Get a multimeter and start testing you have power in all necessary places.
good luck

Flooded nissan xtrail. whats the 1st step to make it run again?

flooded as in parked in a pond?

remove the spark plugs
disable the fuel pump and ignition system
crank the engine to clear the combustion chamber
remove the fuel tank and replace
clear the fuel lines and replace the filter

speaking of filters, don't forget the air filter too

by then you might be ready to reassemble and try to start but first....change the oil and then cross your fingers

2007 passat electronic parking brake light will not go out after caliber change

check brake fluid level. makes sure system is properly bled. put a hose on bleeder nut, the other end submerged in a jar with some brake fluid in it. start car, have someone pump brake pedal, hold down, then turn open the bleeder 1/4 turn and then close. Friend can then release and pump again. repeat till no bubbles or dirty fluid comes out. keep an eye on fluid reservoir level, do this at each wheel starting with the one furthest from reservoir to closest. get two large brake fluid bottles, the stuff is cheap and you will want to flush quite a bit through to get dirty, watery fluid out. Please rate answer. Being in church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car. And like a good garage, a good church has seasoned experts that have fixed a lot of problems, great tools, and an honest, caring owner, God.
