You must have missed the rubber ring from the bottom or the oilfilter. If this ring is not there, it takes a while before the pressure goes up.

SOURCE: my bmw 318 ran out of petrol now it wont start i

if you can't hear the fuel pump cut in for a couple of seconds, check the fuse. Check the relay, or replace it with a known good one. See if you have power to the fuel pump. If you have power, your fuel pump is in need of replacement.
When you run an electric fuel pump out of gas, you should always cycle it about 10 times before you try to start the engine. That is, turn the key to on for a few seconds, and then off, and repeat. You need to get some fuel up to the engine.

SOURCE: where is the oil filter located on the bmw 116i

right at the front in the middle below plastic housing. Has 1 large plastic cap on a metal lower casing, not metal bodied like old oil filters just has filter element. Also replace 'O' rings that should come with the new filter as the old will have squared off or become perished. I think you need a 27mm socket to undo the filer housing.

I have a problem with my BMW'05 series 1, there was a oil leak and a mechanic replaced the seal and top up the oil to optimum level. After a week, every morning till now, when I insert the key the red lamp...

Dear sir :
you never mix different oil origin in together. In order to top up the oil it has to be the same origin , type , & grade ,
now you need to drain all that oil out and put fresh oil
purchased from BMW dealer and change the oil filter also then use diagnostic
computer to clear the eng oil pressure light . I hope this will help
let me know.

What kind of oil does a 2002 BMW 7 series take?

engine oil?? any multigrade i would recomend that you use the cheapest petrol/diesel oil from a supermarket then change oil every 6000m and a oil filter every third oil change this will keep the inside of the engine clean and free from gunk and muck which can block the oil pick up pipe filter and cause the engine to seize

Low fuel pressur in bmw x6

If it just came on that there is low fuel pressure the first thing you should check is if there is a fuel filter(some vehicles don't have a changeable filter) and change it because they can plug up and restrict fuel flow over time. If the low fuel warning doesn't go out get your fuel pressure checked. Usually about 1/2hr charge in most shops.

When i start up my bmw540 from cold it sounds like a diesal than a petrol engine noise decreases as engine gets warmer ps.oil not been changed for sometime

I would make sure engine oil is change AT LEAST every 3,000 miles with filter. Check engine oil level, or you may drop a rod. It should not sound like a diesel.
