The PCV valve is located in the valve cover on the passenger side of the vehicle. The valve is closer to the firewall than it is to the front of the engine. It has a hose attached to it and threads into the valve cover.

SOURCE: 1996 nissan pcv valve location
I am used to the PCV valve being in the valve cover so I ran into the same problem myself on my 96 hardbody it is located down near the oil filter you will have to go in through the passenger front wheel well take off the splash guard and you may have to make a little room by disconnecting an electrical bracket and I believe it is a 19mm wrench.Hope this helps

the pcv valve is behind the alternator between the alternator and oil filter. when you remove the oil filter you can see the pcv in the intake manifold. best way to get to it is through the pass side fender under the rubber mud flap thats between the wheel and engine.
