This is common. All you need is a new resistor. Easy and cheap.

SOURCE: Is there a way that

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action I strongly suggest that you remove the positive battery connector and let it sit for atleast 10mins. then reconnect it. Sometimes the computer needs to relearn itself to get rid of the problem.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

SOURCE: Hi, I own a 2000

The radio is the one that came with the car? Sometimes they use a powered wire for a ground to connect an aftermarkey radio or othe r device. In the fuse relay panel look by touching the relays to see if thuer hot to the touch. remove the relay you find and then see what diesn;t work. If the radio is the one that came with the car, you may have a contol module isusse or a rusted ground. Look near the battery for any rusted connections as the device may be loosing the ground that normally has it turned off.

hi,
some vehicles have a synchronised twin electric fan system that operates only when the AC is turned on, can you manually turn off the AC and see if that changes what you have just described.
If not then the climate air ( AC ) sensor may be faulty.

sounds like a shorrt to 12v to me. The wire is hot and the fan is shutting off because the blower is bad, getting to hot, it will bind, causing over amperage.

My cooling fan does not come on when car is started.both the ac and cooling fan comes on when ac is started

The cooling fan is required to operate when the engine temperature rises above the maximum operating temperature threshold.
After the car is started, it will usually take some time for this temperature to be reached.
Ensure fan runs when fan control temperature sensor switch demands.

2003 Honda Civic runs hot when idling.

Check the cooling fan switch. It appears your auxiliary electric cooling fan isn't going on when at idle. and engine temp increases. While you are driving, air is being rammed thru your radiator as you cruise along, so it isn't overheating, at idle, that isn't happening, and the fan should go on as the temp goes up. When the ac is switched on, the fan is being signaled to operate due to the heavy ac load on the cooling system.
