SOURCE: Pontiac Bonneville(2000) oil pressure sending unit

The oil pressure sending unit is located behind the oil filter, Threaded into an aluminunm housing. It has wiring that plugs into the sending unit. The oil filter has to be removed and you will need a deep well socket and a 6 inch extension. Change the oil and the sending unit together.

SOURCE: oil pressure sending unit

Hi there;

Your looking foer the oil pressure sensor on the 2004 8.1L.
You will find it located directly behind the EGR valve threaded into the block just to the drivers side of the center bolt for the transmission to block connection.

Thanks

SOURCE: 01 grand cherokee fan relay/oil pressure

I don't know if this will help anyone, but i had a issue with my jeep running hot and check engine light coming on as well. After alot of trips to different shops - the last one found that there were two senors in the engine for the fan that need to be changed. Everyone would aways fine the one up top but not the second one. After that, have not had any other problems like it since.

What does it mean when the oil light is on all the time? Oil was changed pressure seems good.

It means that either you have no oil pressure or that the wire to the Oil Pressure sending unit came off or possibly the sending unit went out. Do not drive it until fixed!

Where is the oil sending unit located

This is for a 98 but probably will be the same Front drivers side of the engine. Behind the alternator. Hard to see and get to. It has a white plug with one wire. Fords oil pressure sending units are not real sending units. Your oil pressure gauge is a glorified idiot light. Its either on or off, always in the middle

98 chevy 1500 starts and then shuts right off have replaced fuel pump and filter ,crank sensor, cam sensor ,oil sen. coil, ign.mod and PCM

On some chevys the oil pressure sending unit closes the circuit to continue the fuel pump to run after start. In the event of a wreck ,the car stops running thus no oil pressure thus turns off power to the fuel pump .A safety to help prevent fires. When you first start the car, the computer turns on the fuel pump for about 20 seconds just enough time to start and allow the oil pressure sending unit to close the circuit to allow it to continue running. when the car car has NO oil pressure or the sending unit fails ,it will start then shut down..as many times as you try to start. replace the oil pressure sending unit and secure a good conection. Engine 3800 for 98 Park ave. shows oil pressure too high on the gauge. what could cause this

Sounds like your oil pressure sending unit is faulty! When you turn the key on, is the gauge reading low, then you start it and it pegs out? if so, the sending unit has failed.

I have a 94 sidekick . my oil light keeps blinking , and my oil is full .

there is a dohickey screwed into the engine block, probably near the oil filter location, called the oil pressure sender. get one at a parts store and replace yours. hopefully that fixes it as if it doesn't it means your engine's internal oil pump is not pumping enough oil. to replace that pump often means taking the engine down. it is a 16 year old vehicle and all mechanical parts eventually fail.

I have a 95 suzuki sidekick in which i replaced the fuel tank on... i connected everything the way it was and it will crank but wont start... i can hear the fuel pump kick on and tried to spray fuel in the...

try taking the fuel line loose at the fuel filter and see if any fuel comes out of it. if no fuel is coming from the tank before the filter more than likely have the lines reversed. also make sure that you are getting the proper pressure to the fuel rail.
