Question about 1998 Lincoln Navigator

1 Answer

I have a 2003 Lincoln Navigator. The air condition blows cold air but it randomly blows air through the correct vents then changes to the defroster vents on the dash. Do you have an answer for that?

You have either lost the vacuum to the mode selector switch (in the dash control) or the vacuum mode selector switch is leaking in the ac/heater control in the dash, u can usually hear a hiss if it is leaking. the vacuum source is the engine, a small hose runs through the firewall on the passenger side to the switch from the eng vacuum source.

Thanks

I have the air on and when I press the gas the air stops blowing thru the front vents

If it changes to the defrost, you have a vacuum loss somewhere. It may have a mode door going bad also where the acceleration of the vehicle causes it to swing and switch positions.

Air conditioner not blowing out of panel vents on 2000 Lincoln Navigator. It's blowing cold but when you cut on panel vents it only blows out on the floor and out of the defrost vents.

sounds like the leakages that operate the flapper are misaligned or bent. if its electrically operated then actuator could be going bad

On my 2003 Lincoln Navigator, when I accelerate, the cool AC air blows out of the defrost ducts. When I brake, the air blows out of the vents (where I would like it to blow all of the time). There is no...

Hi there...
well usually this happens, when the valve in the dash-board is defective. you can't replace it your self. its not costly, but the mechanic needs to dig in deep to reach it in most cars. i don't know where exactly it is loacated in the Navigator. but dont listen to any body telling to replace anything but this small in dash valve .

good luck i wish this helps u in anyway.
have a nice day
